elevated GB8Xp It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marinella Arduini on October 4, 2025, at the age of 66. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving husband, Nebo Orazietti; her sister, Loren (Bruno); and her children, Alexander and Stephanie.
elevated GB8Xp Marinella now joins her beloved parents, Pietro and Eleonora, in the eternal afterlife.
elevated GB8Xp She was an extraordinary woman who inspired everyone she met. Strong-willed and independent, Marinella brought joy to those around her. She dedicated her life to public service, spending her career in public health with the City of Toronto and later continuing her commitment to helping others by volunteering with Mackenzie Health Services during her retirement.
elevated GB8Xp Marinella embraced life fully, pursuing her passions in learning photography, taking courses through the University of Toronto’s Continuing Education program, gardening, cooking, and enjoying peaceful walks along Georgian Bay.
elevated GB8Xp Her warmth, strength, and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Dear Nebo, Alexander, Stephanie, Loren – I met Marinella in about 1989 and when learning I was from PEI, she shared she spent her first work experience there and that broke the ice! We became colleagues and friends, especially getting to know one another after amalgamation. I remember working on school health with her in the early days, and later we spent time in the kitchen at Seaton House during a city labour disruption. Fast forward, she eventually became my boss for a few years before she retired. No matter what role, Marinella was an inspirational leader, hard-working colleague and dear friend. She was always willing to lend a sympathetic ear, a warm smile, and a hearty laugh, encouraging each of us to find our individual passion at work and in life. It was evident she cared deeply about her family by the way she spoke so lovingly of each of you. Marinella will be greatly missed and remembered. My deepest condolences on your loss of a wonderful wife, mother and sister.
I am so sorry for your loss. Marinella and I worked together and in the last few years before her retirement we worked very closely together. I appreciated her passion and vision for Public Health during a time when we both experienced many changes. I enjoyed hearing about her loving family her many great recipes and her exciting vacations. May she rest in peace.
I met Marinella when we both worked for Etobicoke Public Health and then for Toronto Public Health. At Amalgamation Marinella and I both went to
North York ( North
Region ) we had side by side offices at North York Civic Centre. My fondest memories of my dear friend were the times we would walk over to each other’s office. We shared so many laughs and great conversation. I loved her very much and I am deeply sorry for her family’s loss of this beautiful woman. RIP dear friend.

Our dear volunteer Marinella,
Marinella was a truly beautiful human being — both inside and out. She brought warmth, kindness, and joy to the Gift Shop, and we all loved working alongside her.
She took great pride in contributing to our community. Whether it was supporting the vendor program or writing thoughtful thank-you letters to our knitters and book donors, Marinella approached every task with sincerity and joy.
One of her favorite activities was joining me on buying trips for the Gift Shop. Attending the shows together felt like an adventure — always on the lookout for unique items to surprise our customers. Marinella would often share how much she loved hearing customers compliment the Gift Shop for its charm and one-of-a-kind items. She was passionate about creating that experience for them, and it showed.
Our last buying trip was filled with laughter and fun — a memory I will always treasure. Her last volunteer shift was spent helping price the new fall merchandise we had just purchased. I remember how focused she was on matching the items to the invoice prices — so much so that she lost her balance and fell off her chair. We laughed so hard together in that moment; it was such a perfect reflection of her spirit — dedicated, lighthearted, and full of life.
Marinella will be dearly missed, but her presence, laughter, and generosity of heart will always remain a part of the Gift Shop and all of us who had the privilege to know her.
We say goodbye until we see you again our dear friend.

I have known her my entire life. My sister, mentor, role model, and friend. Words cannot express the deep loss that has been left in my heart by her passing.
Gentle, pure of heart, caring, loving, and humble. These are just a few of the qualities that describe my beautiful sister. Her protective nature was evident from a very young age. Holding my hand and watching out for me, she was always by my side through thick and thin. I knew I could always count on my sister to be there for me whenever I needed her. Giving advice when I asked for it, sharing stories, and being a great listener are what made her a special sister. Being a devoted and loving wife to Nebo for over 37 years was inspirational. Being a doting and loving mother to Alexander and Stephanie is what made her precious. Being a great friend, is what made her an exceptional woman. Her adventurous travel spirit, inquisitive intellect, and her enthusiasm for life’s pleasures are what give me comfort in knowing she lived her life fully, only to be cut short by her illness. Her courage and strength during these last few years were nothing short of heroic. I cherish the memories I have of her that will remain with me forever. Rest In Peace now, “Mella”, my beloved sister.

My deepest condolences for the tremendous loss of your beloved Marinella.
I was deeply saddened and at a loss for words when I heard of her passing. The last time I Marinella, she was radiant and beautiful as ever.
I will remember her as a genuine person who was gentle and beautiful inside and out. She had a radiant smile, and kindness can be heard in her voice when she spoke.
Marinella will now be reunited with her beloved parents, family, and friends that passed before her.

Dear Nebo, Alexander, Stephanie, Loren and Bruno, we are so very sorry for your loss. We have known Marinella her whole life during good and sad times. She was a very warm, caring and bright woman. My husband, Gino was given a book by Marinella – The Dancing Wu Li Masters 40 years ago which he says has changed his life. Thanks to her he was introduced to quantum physics! Because of her, I took some photography courses with her and since then I have always had an interest. This shows how far reaching her interests were and how remarkable she was. She will be missed but we will always remember her fondly and have a place in our hearts.

I am so deeply sorry for your loss. My heart is heavy. I worked with Marinella for 15 years, almost half of my career at Toronto Public Health. Marinella was very kind, thoughtful, and calm. She demonstrated patience and professionalism through the constant change that we experienced in our roles as Managers. This made her a wonderful leader to staff, and a level-headed voice of reason for her peers. I valued her knowledge, strategic skills, and her ability to balance work and family life. I loved hearing about her travels, her family (Nebo, her children Stephanie and Alexander, and her father), and her retreat in Collingwood. We had a number of authentic conversations about approaching retirements, and both retired within a year of each other. I will miss her. I am very grateful for her positive impact in my life, personally and professionally.

Every time I met my cousin Marinella, she was always so kind, gentle and enthusiastic to meet and do something together. We had few opportunities to meet but I will always remember very well those days.
She was really a good person and I’m sure everybody who had the chance to know Marinella during her life will miss her a lot.
Our strongest consolation for this early passing is knowing she will rest in Paradise with her parents.

My heart is heavy with the news that my colleague and mentor Marinella has left us so soon. I am so sad I was not able to make the visitation as we were in Europe on a trip that I had planned to tell Marinella about. Marinella got me. We had many things in common- love of travel, sons named Alexander, being direct and to the point, and we loved to laugh and poke at each other. I can still remember some our our last conversations at 277 Victoria in her office before she retired. She was a great leader, so smart and passionate about public health. She was supportive and understanding and I felt valued and trusted by her. I could go on and on. My deepest condolences to you on the loss of such an incredible human being. She has touched so many lives and she will continue to be remembered and cherished by us all.
