elevated hsVVD Obituary
elevated hsVVD October 16th, 1933 (Malito, Cosenza, Calabria, Italy) – September 30th, 2026 (Scarborough, Ontario, Canada)
elevated hsVVD With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Mario “Big M” Albi on September 30, 2026, at the age of 92. He was surrounded by his loving family, who filled his final moments with stories of his remarkable life and the memories he gave them.
elevated hsVVD For 64 years, Mario was the devoted husband of Ada, and the beautiful family they created together remained the greatest joy of his life.
elevated hsVVD Mario was the loving father of Emilio, Gina (Gerry), Mary (Robert), and Mario Jr. (Maria), and his pride only grew with the arrival of his grandchildren, Tino, Isabella, David, Robert, Gabriella, Alivia, and Sophia, who will forever hold a special place in their Nonno’s heart. Beyond his children and grandchildren, he will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
elevated hsVVD Born in Malito, Italy, Mario was the eldest of his siblings. From a young age, he carried a deep sense of responsibility for his family, and he remained a source of strength and guidance to his brothers and sister throughout his life. He was predeceased by his siblings Peter, Emma, Tony, Frank, and Joe.
elevated hsVVD For many years, Mario worked as a florist, a trade he took great pride in and lovingly passed on to his daughter Gina. Together, they brought beauty to countless weddings, celebrations, and farewells.
elevated hsVVD Mario will be remembered for his strong character, generosity, sense of humour, love of a good deal, and, above all, his devotion to his family, both immediate and extended. He often said that he was at peace and would leave this world with no regrets. He lived as he spoke, fully and with love, and left us just the same. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
elevated hsVVD The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses of the Palliative Care Unit at Scarborough General Hospital for caring for Mario and our family with the kindness and dignity he so deserved.

Our sincere condolences to all the family, Mario will be missed. May he rest in peace now and may his memories be a blessing ❤️
Our deepest condolence to all the family. Zio Mario will be missed but never forgotten ❤️rest in peace🙏🏼❤️
Rest peacefully, Uncle Mario. Thank you for everything you did for all of us. My dad’s face would light up whenever he was with you, and the banter between the two of you could go on for hours. Those are memories I will always cherish.
As painful as it is to lose so many loved ones in such a short period of time, it brings a smile to my face knowing that you are now reunited with the brothers and sister you cherished so deeply—and who loved you just as deeply in return.
You will be missed and forever remembered
Love,
Christina
Jay, my sincere condolences to you and your and family.
Uncle Mario, you lived a life full of love, incredible hard work and a deep commitment to family. As the oldest, you ensured all your siblings and of course your children were always looked after. Family was everything to you and your actions demonstrated that. You lived fully and now your work here is done. It’s time for you to rest and enjoy your morning espresso with those who have been missing you for so long – your siblings. We appreciate all you’ve done and will always have love for you.
