Mario and the entire Caldarola family has always been family to me.
I have so many fond memories as a child with all of them and Mario was always so good to me. He used to hand pick the most beautiful and tastiest figs ever for me from his green house. Visiting Josephine and Mario was the happiest times for me and I will miss him so very much.
I am very deeply saddened by this news and so sorry I cant be there in person to be with the entire family.
I love you Mario, you will be missed every single day.

That is an amazing picture! It is Mario for sure, tipping his hat to welcome everyone with the warmest smile. He was the kindest person and he will be missed greatly.
We have been friends for many years, 46 to be exact. I saw his dedication and love of his family, his building skills and pristine garden. I never left there empty handed. It was either figs, vegetables or tyrels.
He was a true Gentleman!

This man, who I am proud and blessed to call my father was the kindest, hardest working, big hearted, always smiling, most loving man I have ever known. Everyone lucky enough to have met him, loved him. He did everything for his family. His life was all about his children, his grandchildren and our mother (together for more than 60 years). He was funny, a great story teller, a patient teacher, an attentive listener, always willing to help everyone and never judgemental. He was my hero, my everything and there won’t be a day that goes by that I will not be thinking of him and missing him.
