It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mario Perri on October 26th at the age of 85, surrounded by the love of his family, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband to Iliana, father to Catherine (Anthony), Emily (Marco), and Sandra (Alexander), and Nonno to his five grandchildren Luca, Stefania, Isabella, Elizabeth and William. Survived by his sister Maria and reunited in heaven with his parents, Francesco and Caterina as well as his brother, Vito.
Mario was a magnetic presence in any room he entered and a man of exceptional character. A role model to many, he was respected, determined, hard-working, fiercely loyal, family-oriented and selfless to his core. He was always eager to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
To know Mario was to know how much he loved his family. Mario’s love for Iliana – his wife and life partner of 58 years – set a beautiful example to his children, his grandchildren, and all those who knew him. His greatest pride and joy were his children and grandchildren. He loved spending time with them in his garden, and enjoyed cooking their favourite meals and gathering around the table.

Our deep felt condolences to Iliana, 3 daughters and family. Mario was a neighbour at a time in our lives, a friend and especially a beloved cousin . Their home had an open door with Mario’s booming voice and laughter and Iliana , a gentle soul always with a smile. Mario’s legacy and light will shine on through his memories, his children and beloved ones.
