elevated B2X4H Obituary
It is with heavy hearts we share the passing of Mario Valerio on February 3, 2026, in Markham, Ontario, at the age of 82. He left us peacefully, with his family by his side.
Mario was a loving husband to the late Santina Valerio (née DiLucia) for 26 years. Beloved partner of Esther Casullo for 22 years. Cherished father of Lucy Turgelis (Steve) and Dave Valerio (Anita). He was a treasured Nonno to his 5 grandsons whom he adored – Anthony, Nicholas, Christian, Michael and David.

elevated B2X4H Mario was born on April 25, 1943, in Sessano del Molise, Italy, to parents Pasquale and Elisa, both predeceased. He will be deeply missed by his siblings Nicola (the late Berenice), Antonio (Amalia) and Lucia (the late Felice). He was predeceased by siblings Giovanni, Donato (the late Filomena) and Rosa (Alessandro), brother in-law Giovanni, sisters-in law Antonietta, Cristina and Maria Grazie. He loved, and was beloved by, his many nieces and nephews.

elevated B2X4H Mario always had a smile and a kind word for everyone, and was so happy to help others in any way he could. He received the greatest enjoyment from spending time with family and friends. He loved carpentry, soccer, music, puttering in the garage and the garden, and a nice glass (or two) of homemade wine. He was a Mr. Fix-it handyman and never shied away from a tricky repair challenge, often fixing things that may or may not have needed it.

elevated B2X4H His resiliency and positive attitude, even in hard times, was admirable. He had tremendous courage and faced his challenges head on. This was especially evident over the past year when illness began to overtake him. He handled it all with bravery and a smile, always remaining hopeful and grateful.

elevated B2X4H Mario was an amazing family man and role model. He was a kind, gentle, humble person who truly demonstrated the values of honesty, integrity and hard work in all that he did.  He was our very own ‘Super Mario’. We will treasure every memory and we’ll be forever grateful for all that he shared with us.

elevated B2X4H May he rest in peace.
