elevated uEgF1 With profound sadness we announce the passing of Marion Curley (nee McInnis) on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at the Etobicoke General Hospital surrounded by her family, just days after turning 94 on January 3.
elevated uEgF1 Marion is now reunited with her beloved husband Joseph.
elevated uEgF1 Mom’s proudest accomplishment was her family, and she will be greatly missed by her children Francis (Barbara), Jack (Sharyn), Joyce (Rob Veenstra) and Wanda (Brian Palmer).
elevated uEgF1 Cherished and proud Nanny to her grandchildren Austin, Laura, Taylor (Nic), Cameryn (Jeff), Joey (Emily), Matt (Caileah), Rhys and Ellis and Lindsay (Jason).
elevated uEgF1 Born in Peakes, Prince Edward Island to Rupert and Pearl McInnis, one of six children, Marion is now together with her Mom and Dad and siblings Cecil, Josie, Elmer, Anne and Frank and their spouses. Also predeceased by her dear in-laws from the Curley family.
elevated uEgF1 She is survived by her sister-in-law, Noreen McInnis.
elevated uEgF1 Adored aunt to many nieces and nephews and their families, and a loyal friend and neighbor to many over the years.
elevated uEgF1 Having relocated from PEI to Toronto in 1962, Marion and Joe built a life for their family in Etobicoke. After starting her career as a teacher in PEI, Marion enjoyed a long and successful career with the Hudson’s Bay Company in Toronto, and retired from there in 1997. She always enjoyed being up to date on current news, especially local and national politics. Her family was always her priority and she always met visits from family with a pan of fresh biscuits, a cup of tea and a good chat.
elevated uEgF1 She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her legacy will live on.

So sorry to hear about Marion. She was family to us. Growing up on Mosswood we got to know her in early 1972, she was always a steady calm person with a quiet wit. Always on top of current events and politics, kind hearted and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. Loved her like she was my second Mom. I’ll never forget that first trip to PEI in the McInnis farm in Peakes. She never misses an opportunity to remind me to keep the chickens in the coop!! I’ll miss her dearly. May she rest in peace.
You couldn’t have asked for better neighbours Joe, Marion and the boys and girls Curley. We met around 1971 and their home was like a second home to us, Marion and Joe taught me how to play Cribbage in their kitchen and if it was in season she’d offer Strawberry shortcake with whipped cream. Marion would visit my mom along with Thea Milka and although my mom didn’t speak English they’d spend an hours on our porch.

Thank you for all of the wonderful memories. Your smile and laughter would brighten up any room. You were kind, caring and always so welcoming. I will miss you and our conversations.

We were saddened to hear about Mrs. Curley’s passing.
Each time we saw her she was always so warm, kind, and welcoming.

We will miss Marion and all the corner chats we had in front of our house when she went for her daily walks. Zeke always looked forward to his gentle pats on his head from her when we chatted. Your mom and dad were wonderful neighbors as we have been here on Mosswood for some 30 years now…we all had some good laughs during those years. I’m sure we will again someday.

We are very sorry to hear of Marion’s passing. She was a gentle, quite lady who always greeted you with a smile. Our thoughts are with the family. May she rest in peace and always be remembered.
Marion was a bright spot on the street in which my grandparents lived. She was always kind and had a question to ask my brother and I when we’d be by with our Yiayia (grandma) Eleni. She paid attention to kids and I remember noticing that. My grandma really appreciated Marion and I will never forget her really beautiful voice with its east coast lilt. Sending all my love to the Curley family at this very sad time.
