Marion was born in Grand Falls, Newfoundland but spent most of her life in Toronto as a teacher, writer, and devoted aunt. Her passion was writing, and she could be found most often attending reading or writing groups and furthering her education with courses at U of T.

elevated K5kdn Marion passed away peacefully in her 88th year at Hillside Manor in Cambridge on the morning of July 2, 2026. She is predeceased by her mother Marguerite Newhook, her father Patrick Nugent, and her brother Michael Nugent. She is mourned by her nieces and nephews, her sister-in-law, and extended family both here and in Newfoundland.
