elevated 0SlsS Peacefully passed away with family by his side and loving mother, Kathlyn, holding his hand. While his late father, Dr. Paul Joseph Irish, was holding Mark’s other hand. Brothers and sisters Paul, Eileen, Kathleen, Maureen, David and Margaret will miss him always. Mark was predeceased by infant brother Vincent and youngest brother Peter. Brother in law to Cathleen Irish, Gregory Rogers, Mark McKay and Gloria Taylor. Mark was a devoted and loved uncle to 23 nieces and nephews and 18 great nieces and nephews. Mark was proud to be a godfather to Paul Irish and Caitlin Rogers-Aquino. They will cherish his humour, kindness and generosity. Mark will be missed by cousins, family and friends. Mark was a graduate of Brebeuf College School, Seneca College and York University. His love of reading, history and Toronto led him to create Toronto Storied Walking Tours, a venture that he loved and was proud of. A Special thank you to the staff at Hill House Hospice, where Mark was cared for with kindness and dignity.
“cherish his humour, kindness and generosity” is how I’ll remember Mark too … especially his wiseacre, slightly-asymmetrical humour! I’m thankful my younger brothers brought everyone Irish into our Caracas Road adventures. We remain marked.

Truly sorry to hear about Mark. I’m going to try to come up for the final ceremony in the spring. My new “enhanced” liscense might allow me to cross the boarder now after twenty years of banishment. Hope to see everyone then and I hope everyone is doing well. God bless Mark. Love Johnny

Deepest condolences to Paul and the whole Irish clan on the loss of your beloved brother, son, and uncle, Mark.
He was one of a kind and a special guy. I have fun memories of him, Hanging out at Bayview village, Millgate park, wandering the streets of Willowdale, Glendon college gym to name a few. I enjoyed listening to his stories of Toronto on the walking tours. He was a thoughtful, smart, kind man and curious about the world. He will be so missed.
My sincere condolences to Mrs Irish and the entire Irish family. Mark and I would see one another while doing research at the Reference Library or on heritage walks. We shared a love of the city’s history and always get caught up on one another’s families. Mark was always cheerful and loved to share his knowledge and enthusiasm for Toronto’s history.

Dear Kay and the Irish Family. I only just now saw this news. Much love to all of you. Mark was a dear and cherished friend from our early years at St. Gabriels. We have kept in touch on facebook over the years and I will miss our catch ups and his wonderful humour.
