elevated 65fhU It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marta at 12:59 am on Tuesday, August 22 at the age 90, reunited with her loving husband Luciano and precious little Daniela. Marta will be forever missed by her children Marco (Rosie), Danny (Nancie), and Sandra (Greg). She was the adoring Nonna of Patricia (Aaron), Milena (Brad), Sara, Steven, Christopher, and Jacquie, and loving Bisnonna to Zoe, Ophelia and 3 week old Thea.
elevated 65fhU Marta was born in Penne on May 23, 1933 and raised in Pescara, Italy, one of 11 children of Anna and Luigi Rossi and immigrated to Canada in 1957. Marta’s full long life was marked by her natural elegance and finesse, her expert mastery of Abruzzese cuisine and baked delicacies, her devotion to her husband, children and extended Rossi family and her unwavering nostalgia for her beloved homeland. She will be so dearly missed and always remembered by all those who knew her and loved her.
elevated 65fhU In recognition of the struggles of so many of our loved ones living with dementia and the tremendous support offered by their families and caregivers Marta’s family would greatly appreciate that donations be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada in lieu of flowers.
Our heartfelt condolences to the Selvaggi family on the loss of such a special beautiful lady. We have so many wonderful memories of the times the Del Greco’s spent together with Marta and her family both here and in Italy. Marta was kind and generous and her home always reminded me of ours because our mothers are so similar in our upbringing. Marta and I talked endlessly about our love of Italy and always gave me good advice. She will forever carry a very special place in our hearts.
To the Selvaggi family: please accept our sincerest condolences for the loss of your beloved mother. May memories of her life comfort you during this difficult time.
My condolences to Mark,Rosie and family. Thinking of you all during this difficult time.
Much love, Anna Grieco
Dear Marco, Danny Sandra
Zia Martha to me always…when I think back to so many years ago when we all lived on Fulwell our families were so close. I spent so much time at your house. The memory I recall most vividly is your mom always offering up delicious home baked goods. Our families shared many dinners, birthdays and holidays together as we grew up. She was always very welcoming and offered great advice on how to be our best selves. She was one of my moms dearest friends. She will be missed by all who knew her. “Zia Martha may you rest in eternal peace”
To all of you and your lovely families… I along with my family offer you our most sincerest condolences along with love and support through this time of sorrow.

To all of you May the beautiful memories of your extraordinary mamma always and forever be embedded in your hearts. With love Mario and Libby Lupinacci
Dear Danny and Nancy. It was with great sadness we came to know of your Mom’s passing while we were away. While we may not have known her very well. we do know you and your family and what a beautiful family she created. it’s obvious her kindness and love of family has passed on to you and your families as well as we’ve all been able to call you friend for decades. No void can be filled once a parent is gone and while we personally both know the pain of losing a parent, we have found a way to navigate and comfort each other and friends by speaking their name often and their memories so that we live through all they did and achieved! no greater mark will be than to live in their best examples! our love and prayers are with you all. your friends always Cathy and George
