It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our “Ati”, Martin Stergar.
elevated YwpDM On October 30, 2021, in his 83rd year, Martin passed away peacefully at Headwaters Health Care Center surrounded by his family.
elevated YwpDM Beloved husband of 54 years to his rock and devoted wife Ankica Stergar (Tomas).
elevated YwpDM Cherished father to Martin Stergar (Helena) and Nicole Kusidel (Adam).
elevated YwpDM Loving grandfather to his pride and joy, his 5 wonderful grandchildren Calista, Mateja, Anderson, Marco and Vida.
elevated YwpDM Predeceased by his parents Martin and Ana Stergar, brother Stanko Stergar and sister Minka Stergar.
elevated YwpDM Martin was also a beloved brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, godfather and friend.
elevated YwpDM Martin touched the lives of so many people with his distinctive bold voice, his sense of humour, his love to sing, his love of nature and his constant ability to be happy. His love for building has left his hand and foot prints in so many cities. He had an immense love for his family — protector of all, a love for good food and wine, a heart of gold and a love for life like no other.
elevated YwpDM May the gates in heaven welcome you the same way you embraced everyone here on earth. We will all have peace knowing that a new angel is looking over us today and always …….. until we meet again.

I have many dear memories of Tece Martin at our family celebrations. He always projected happiness. I appreciate what good friends he, together with Teta Ankica, have always been to my father, my late mother, and by extension supporting our whole family. You are all in our thoughts and hearts through this difficult time. I’d like to think his bold happy voice is now heard at the card game in heaven.

My husband, and our daughter also share good memories. You Martin, and Ankica inspired us to get our own chickens, and we have your garlic growing in our garden. Thus, you are always close to us.
