elevated BplwY Obituary

elevated BplwY Our beloved Mary Ellen passed away on Friday, December 20, 2019, in her 74th year, after a lengthy illness in which Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Lung Cancer, and Diabetes, all afflicted her.  She bore the effects of those illnesses, and all the trials that life could throw at her, bravely and stoically, and always kept a cheerful disposition.  She was fiercely independent and would rather do whatever herself than ask for assistance until assistance was well and truly needed.

elevated BplwY Mary Ellen leaves behind her beloved daughter Sheila (David), and her cherished brother Mark (Jacqueline), as well as her numerous friends, especially Kerry Turner and Pat De Chiara, and her extended family, all of whom not only mourn her passing but, also, celebrate her life, and remember her love of life.

elevated BplwY Mary Ellen was predeceased by her husband Reginald, and by her brother David, and also by her former husband Norman, and by her son Norman (who passed away in his infancy), as well as by her parents Francis and Mary Gertrude Pujolas.

elevated BplwY Mary Ellen loved animals, particularly her dogs Tara (a Bichon Frise) and Barney (a Saint Bernard) – more extremes in size can scarcely be imagined – and cats too.  She loved the many glorious forms that nature takes – the sun setting over water, a breeze caressing her face (preferably a warm Australian breeze rather than the breeze of a cold Canadian winter).  She was never afraid to settle down with a glass or two, or a bottle, of fine wine – another form of nature’s bounty.

elevated BplwY To say that Mary Ellen will be truly missed is an understatement.  She loved and was loved.  What more need be said?  Ah, yes, we love you, our dear Mary Ellen, Rest in Peace.

elevated BplwY In lieu of flowers, donations to any of the Canadian Lung Association, Canadian Cancer Society, or Diabetes Canada will be appreciated.
