elevated BcRPE Mary Jane Louise McNicholl, our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many died peacefully with her family by her side on February 7th, 2024. She was 83 years old and battled double lung cancer for 4 years. The “cat with 9 lives,” as we affectionately called her, refused to give up hope until learning the cancer had spread to her liver and abdomen. Her light went out the next day.
Mary Jane is survived by her daughter Cheryl Anne, grandson’s Ryan and Harvey, granddaughter Dakota, great grandson Cash, brother Jerome, sister Anne Marie and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her daughters Sharon and Michelle, partner Joseph and parents Eugene and Marion.
Mary Jane, known to many as “MJ,” was a gifted and creative artist. She wrote exquisite poetry and produced many beautiful paintings. She was a voracious reader, always looking to satisfy her thirst for knowledge and intellectual curiosity. An intelligent, witty, determined, resilient, stubborn, caring and deeply spiritual woman. She loved the game of chess, good food and engaging conversation. A life of many joys and blessings; a life of much heartache and loss. She will be dearly missed.
