elevated krlz2 Obituary

Mary Lisa passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness on June 22, 2018. Predeceased by her beloved husband Leo Troiani. Mary Lisa is survived by her father Flavio Martini and predeceased by her mother Silvia (Bucci). She will be dearly missed by her sister Tina Cipriani (Marco). She was a doting aunt to her niece Vanessa and her nephew Matthew, who cherished her as a second mother. Mary Lisa will be fondly remembered by her family, friends, colleagues, and church community.

Mary Lisa was a dedicated French teacher for the Toronto Catholic District School Board, where she touched the lives of not only many students, but also the wider school community throughout her career. Faith was extremely important to her. Mary Lisa was a reader and a member of the Italian choir at St. Paschal Baylon Church.

Since the passing of her husband Leo, Mary Lisa found solace and healing in the blue waves of the ocean in the Caribbean. She was a brave and independent solo traveler who made new friends wherever she went. Her bubbly personality and zest for life was contagious. She could always be counted on to share a good joke, a new story about her travels, and warm conversation. She realized the true meaning of life was found in nurturing and maintaining relationships and appreciating the simple things. Every day was a gift to be cherished.

With her passing, the world lost a beautiful, compassionate soul. Her memory will live on in our hearts always.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Mary Lisa’s caregivers at Mackenzie Health Hospital Richmond Hill for their compassionate caring.
