It is with heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Taccogna on October 2, 2025, at Humber River Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 64. Born on October 22, 1960 in Puglia, Italy. Survived by her mom Vitina and Mike Macera. She is reunited in Heaven with her father Donato and brother Leo. Beloved mother of Donny (Debra), Natalie (Rocco) and Tina (Justice). Proud Nonna of Luca, Jaxson, Harrison and Aria. Adored sister of Andy, Peter and Donny. Mary will be sadly missed and held dear in the hearts of her many extended family and friends. She will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten.

I can’t even believe that you’re not with us anymore My Sweet Mary. 47 years together and all of them most of them were hilarious. I remember when I called you my little llama. Cause you said I’d rather be a llama than a cow lol it’s a private joke. I just want everyone to know that Mary worked all of her life sometimes three jobs at a time to raise her kids and I find that unbelievable. There was no one that I knew that was stronger than her. She had a strength about her that I’ve never seen. Donny, Natalie, Justice, and Tina were loved by her with every beat of her heart. And I knew this cause we spoke four days four times a day and that’s what I really missed. I can’t believe that I will not hear that beautiful laughing voice again, but I’m proud of the woman she is. I’m proud how she was raised by her father her mother Tina and her stepfather MIKE, who has been like a father to her her brothers and sisters are the best siblings anyone would ever want always there for each other. I continue losing people in my life and this one’s a big one. She took so much space in my heart. I love you, Mary and I’ll always remember you my little llama there is no one in the world like you may God bless you always.
I’d like to send a big hug on Italian hug to Andy, Pietre, Donny. Mary loved you all so very much. There’s nothing she wouldn’t have done for you. Thank you for always being there for her..
And of course, Deborah and Rocky she loved you like you were her own. Your children meant the world to her. Her heart would open when she spoke about them. They are so beautiful. I hope they’ll be ok🙏🙏🙏😢

I met Mary through Gail. Throughout the times I interacted with her, I saw a very lovely charismatic and funny Lady! She was one of a kind! My deepest condolence to her family and friends! May she rest in the arms of our Lord!🙏🏼
I am shocked by your passing and so saddened by it even as I type this message and refer to you in the past…it is unbelievable. I came to know you as someone with a rough exterior but such a tender heart that gets wounded easily because you cared so much. You were a fighter cause you had to be, after all you were fighting for your life and it looked to me that you were winning. Call me naive but I imagined you living to like 80 or 90 with your raspy voice telling stories of past days. I did not expect this. That’s the strength and determination you walked with. Im sure you got weary and tired most days but you were tenacious. Maybe its that Italian blood. I will miss our sushi outings, your laugh especially when it was really funny…it was contagious. I’ll even miss your super super super anal self lol…which was just driven by your love of order nd a bit of Mary’s way:) But that’s what made you you….you were evenly balanced. I am proud to have called you a friend not just my coworker. I will miss you chiquita. Sleep now.
