It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Maryam Irshaq, who entered eternal rest on September 12, 2025, at the age of 96. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her children.
elevated xO5VC Maryam was born in 1929 in Basra, Iraq, and grew up with six siblings: Arshalous, Yacoub, Manuel, Araxi, Antranik, and Laila.
elevated xO5VC In 1955, she married the late Deacon Habeeb Tobia Saqat, with whom she shared a devoted marriage and raised six children. In 2009, Maryam and her husband immigrated from Lebanon to Canada to be reunited with their family.
elevated xO5VC Maryam’s life was defined by love, faith, and family. She leaves a lasting legacy through her children: Lucy (and her late husband, Ara Khojayan), Bassim, Hanan (and her husband, William “Bill” Greer), Saad (and his wife, Ban Tobia), Ebtisam, and Laith; her grandchildren: Taleen (and her husband, Jason), Caroon (and her husband, Khajak), Aida (and her husband, Paul), Raneem, Mirna, Yasant, Andrew, Brendan, Rami, and Daniel; and her great-grandchildren, Ara and Armen.
