She was a kind-hearted person whose warm, gentle smile and gracious nature brightened every hallway she walked through.
We often shared stories about our growing families, and she spoke with such joy and pride about becoming a grandmother.
It was truly a privilege to have known such a wonderful lady.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences. May God grant comfort, strength, and grace to her loving family during this difficult time. May her dear soul rest in peace.

I’m so deeply sorry for your loss. I’ve only able to see Tita Merle a few times, but her warmth and kindness is unforgettable. She was such a kind and welcoming person—she always made everyone feel comfortable and cared for. She will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.
You brought such immense joy to my Sunday mornings growing up. Your home sheltered me through some of the most broken times of my life. I got to grow up along side my cousin, and chosen childhood best friend, who I’ve had some of my fondest memories with. My fondest memories with you – Costco fries after church, teaching me about the finer things in life (milk and sugar in tea, all the best cereals and snacks)! But the one closest to my heart – you pulled me aside at Glenn and Lauren’s wedding reception. You told me how proud you are of me, how happy you are to see me thrive. That meant more to me than you’ll ever know. I’ve always felt seen by you, I could never thank you enough for that. Tita Merl, this is not a goodbye. I will see you everywhere I go, because where I see love, I will see your smile. Rest in paradise.
Kristee and I share in the deep grief of the Buzon and Low-a-Chee families. We have lost a beautiful, kind soul and a friend who was truly like family to us.
Dear Merle, may you rest in peace in God’s kingdom. We will dearly miss your smile and your calm, gentle voice.
I will always treasure the memories of my Tita Merle, the smiles she always has . And for the last time we were at Canada she made her way bringing food for us at Tito Waldo’s place (April,2024) . I will always remember your kindness and generosity and you will always be missed Tita Merle. May you rest in eternal peace. Please accept our sincerest condolences to the family.

She was such a kind, thoughtful, and caring person who truly looked after those around her. She had a gentle and caring presence and a way of making people feel supported and valued in quiet, meaningful ways. I’ll always remember her notes signed simply “M.” Regardless of how many others shared that initial, to me there was only ever one “M.”

Tatay Buzon used to fetch Franciscan friars from Our Lady of the Angels Seminary, Bagbag, Novaliches, QC to say masses at the chapel of BF Homes Caloocan, Novaliches in the late 1960s and early 1970s before Msgr. Manny Gabriel was assigned there permanently. I must have met Merle in Novaliches when she was a young girl. I saw her again when I visited my sister Rose Wycoco and family in Waterloo, Kitchener, ON in May, 1986. I remember her as very respectful and kind. She wili be missed. I certainly will not forget her. We have the same birth date, June 30. I am just much older. Merle, you are now in God’s hands.
Merlita, thank you for your kindness, your strength, and the love you shared so freely. You will always be remembered and deeply missed.
I am truly grateful for the opportunity I had to learn from you and work alongside you. We shared so many meaningful moments—daily lunches, working out together, teaching me fruit carvings, sharing art projects, watching The Book of Mormon, and having open, honest conversations. You shared your experiences so generously and offered guidance that helped me grow both personally and professionally.
You were always more than a leader to me—you were someone I truly considered a friend.
Sending my love, prayers and condolences to the family.
I am deeply saddened to hear of Merlita’s passing.
As a former work colleague, she was very warm and caring.
My deepest condolences to her family and loved ones.
She was a very special lady and will be missed by all who came in contact with her.
May God give her family strength in the days ahead.
Tita Merle, thank you for making me feel at home the moment I moved to Canada, 5 yrs ago. I’ll always remember your brave spirit, your genuine kindness, and the thoughtful way you’d reach out to check on me and my dad. Our family celebrations won’t be the same without your smile, your laughter, and our ‘chismisan’ about life in general with your fanciest coffee collection. They say heaven calls its angels back first, and you were one of them just as my mommy. It was a blessing to know you and be part of this journey. Rest now in the arms of our mighty Lord.
Tita Merle, you were one of the coolest titas who always brought so much joy and laughter to everyone around you. I miss the big buzon gatherings and they will feel very different without you there. We will truly miss your loving smile and presence, but hope you are resting peacefully now.
