elevated Jb3cw It is with great sadness that the family of Michael J. Toy announces his passing after a courageous battle with cancer, on December 31, 2018, at the age of 59 years. Michael will be lovingly remembered by his brothers Edward, Albert, Stephen (Katie), Andy (Helen). Michael will also be fondly remembered by his niece Jun. Michael was predeceased by his parents (Bing Yee and Sim Kiu) and sister Wanda. In lieu of flowers, donations to Michael’s memory may be made to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation: Ways to Give or to Princess Margaret Hospital Pancreatic Cancer Fund or to St. Michael’s Hospital: Donate.

Fellahs, we go back a long way, and I’ve been fortunate to know your whole family for many years. You’ve done me several good turns, especially when I relocated to Toronto virtually alone (until I learned Andy was my next door neighbour where he and I first relocated!) It’s times like these when we truly realize how short life is and how much or little sand there is left in the upper part of the hourglass at any time. Michael, we are very grateful for the years we worked together. Much laughter ,anger and even tears over the years. Through out the years we learned the secret of right relationship by looking only for the good in each other and leaving everything else to God. Thank you for always watching over us when we worked late in the evening and ensuring security was aware, thanks for getting our lunch on Fridays ( we always had to chase you around the office to reimburse you for lunch, you had a big heart) and coconut bread for Chinese holidays; we will always remember. Thanks for covering for me , you were never afraid to tackle any task (you did it your way). May the peace of God that surpass all understanding be with your loved ones now and in the days ahead.

I worked alongside him for a couple of years and he never failed to put a smile on everyone’s face, to take time out of his day to help his coworkers when they needed it, or to pick up our lunch every Friday. Everyone knows how kind his heart was. He will truly be missed.
