My condolences to my friend Beatrice and all members of the Lamacchia / Volpe family for your loss.
All my love and condolences to you, Beatrice, and the entire Lamacchia/Volpe family. May happy memories bring some solace and comfort during this hard time. <3
Bea,
Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time.
I remember those days long ago when my father would bring me to Earlscourt Park on Sunday mornings to watch Zio Mike referee the men’s soccer games. He commanded the respect and friendship of all the players, coaches and spectators. He was an icon in the St. Clair community. Even in recent years when I mention that my uncle is Mike Lamacchia, the referee, people praise his stature in the Ontario soccer organization. I’m certain that he will be watching with pride and excitement, from heaven, as Canada hosts the World Cup in 2026, with his referee whistle ready in hand to run onto the field.
Rest in peace Zio.
Thinking of you all at this time and sending our deepest condolences to the family. Wishing you moments of peace and comfort with all the sweet memories you can always remember and hold dear in your hearts.

Beatrice , My deepest condolences to you and your family .
We are so sorry for your loss. Mike was a wonderful man – we have many fond memories of him from growing up on the Danforth and going to their variety store, of Mike being a referee at soccer games, and especially of his friendship with our dad Giuseppe Virgilio. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time. Franca and Lena Virgilio, Betty Virgilio and Joe Delle Fave and Family
Our heartfelt sympathy and deepest condolences to the Lamacchia and Volpe families. May your happy memories give you peace and comfort during this difficult time.
I haven’t seen Mike for many years, but he was a senior referee when I joined the Toronto Branch of the Ontario Soccer Referees’ Association in 1981. I worked many games with him and he was always a true gentleman, both on and off the field.
