elevated QMWHQ Obituary
Morris Atamanchuk (1934-2026) passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Monday May 18th, 2026 at the age of 92, surrounded by family at Southlake Health in Newmarket, Ontario.
elevated QMWHQ Born on February 14th, 1934 in Toronto to Paul and Anna, Morris learned the value of discipline early in life. He dedicated his career to the art of construction and took pride in his craft. As a man who built houses from the ground up, he approached his work with the same unyielding standards he applied to every area of his life. He didn’t just build structures, he laid the foundations for his family’s lives, proving that with hard work, a firm hand and absolute integrity, anything could be accomplished.
elevated QMWHQ Morris was a force to be reckoned with. Stern and unwavering, he never backed down from a challenge. Yet, beneath that firm exterior lay a man of immense depth and a wealth of knowledge. He was a patient teacher who freely shared his wisdom, instilling in those around him how to stand strong, weather any storm and take pride in doing a job right the first time.
elevated QMWHQ Morris was a dedicated provider and protector, survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Lorraine, his six children, Terry, Derrick, Kim, Denise, Robert and Linda and his eleven cherished grandchildren, Rebecca, Nicole, Rachel, Jillian, Ryan, Natasha, Michael, Alex, Justin, Jonathan, Jessie as well as two great grandchildren.
elevated QMWHQ A celebration of life will be privately attended by immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Aging Well Clinic – Southlake Health or Alzheimer Society of York Region (Aurora location).

My condolences
Morris had an awesome sense of humour. What a gem!
My condolences and thoughts are with you all.
I am deeply saddened to hear of Morris’ passing. He was the hardest working man i know and he taught all of his children the same ethics. Lorraine was the person that showed strength, kindness and generosity to all that visited their home. She is strong willed and beautiful. She will be lonely I’m sure but she is a survivor.
Condolences to all.
Laina
Our deepest condolences to the whole family, Mr. Morris will always be remembered by Cityview Excavating Co.as being a wonderful person who has made it possible to work for his firm for many years. Many thanks to him, may he rest in peace.
We were deeply saddened to hear of Morris’s passing. We cherish the many warm and happy memories of times shared with Morris, Lorraine, and the entire Atamanchuk family. Our parents treasured their friendship over the years, and those memories will always remain close to our hearts.
I know that if our mother were able, she would want nothing more than to pick up the phone, share a long conversation, and offer her love, sympathy, and heartfelt condolences to Lorraine and the whole family during this difficult time.
We hope it brings some comfort to know how many lives Morris touched through his kindness, warmth, generosity, and friendship. He will be remembered with great affection, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
May he rest in peace.
With love and deepest sympathy,
The Caines Family
I will miss Morris as a client and as a friend.
I met Morris in 1971 as an articling student at Brattys and knew him until his health declined. Man of great integrity. May he rest in peace
Sad to read this news. Morris and Lorraine were always kind and generous to our entire family. Whether it was trips to Florida or hosting a shower for my wife. My sympathies to the entire family.
I am so sad to hear of Mr Atamanchuk’s passing. Being fortunate enough to be employed by his company for a dozen years I learned the lesson of the quality of a hard days work which I saw in Morris and his family everyday. I think of him often and thank him for the opportunity he gave me.
