It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dean Rainer. Dean left us on July 12th, 2024, at the age of 85 surrounded by his family.
elevated Ig7ql Dean was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a cherished friend to many. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 51 years, Helen, and his two children, Bonnie (Anthony) and Barrey (Nadia) along with his grandchildren Liam and Airabella, who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
elevated Ig7ql Born in Saskatchewan to Joseph and Pauline, the youngest of 5 children, Dean lived a life full of love, kindness, and dedication. He was a pillar of strength and a beacon of light for his family and the business community.
elevated Ig7ql His wisdom, generosity, and unwavering support were the foundations upon which his loved ones built their lives.
elevated Ig7ql Dean was known for his entrepreneurial spirit and determination. He started in the manufacturing industry in 1969. In 1982, Dean founded his own business, EPD Engineered Plastic Designs, which became a testament to his hard work and vision.
elevated Ig7ql Through his leadership and innovation, Dean not only created a successful enterprise, but he proudly passed the reins on to his children Bonnie and Barrey, who have continued his legacy with the same passion and dedication.
elevated Ig7ql Whether it was playing a round golf, spending a weekend on the boat with his family or simply sharing a glass of red wine with friends, Dean lived his life with a full heart and a warm smile.
elevated Ig7ql He was a trusted and loyal friend, respectful and respected by his suppliers, customers, friends, and family. Dean had a knack for making friends easily and making friends feel like his best friend.
elevated Ig7ql He was strong willed and stubborn at times but had an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humor. He was generous, loyal, and strong. Always the boisterous life of the party.
elevated Ig7ql But more importantly to him, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather who would move mountains to ensure the well-being and happiness of his family and friends.
elevated Ig7ql Though he is no longer with us, the lessons he imparted and the love he shared will remain with us forever.

My deepest condolences to Helen, Bonnie, Barrey and family on the passing of Dean. A dedicated businessman to the very end who was so proud of EPD and his family. He made all of us at EPD feel like his extended family and took the time to ‘check in’ on everyone and the business daily. I will dearly miss having him say goodbye from the reception window each day as he smiled that sly smile with a twinkle in his eye. Rest well my friend. Go back to playing golf and doing all the things you love just now in a different place. You will be very much missed and never forgotten.

We were saddened to hear about Dean. Our deepest condolences to Helen, Bonnie and Barry and family.
Dean was a wonderful friend, with a great sense of humour.we have great memories of spending time together.He will be missed , may he rest in eternal peace.
Our deepest condolences to you all. We will deeply miss Dean’s sense of humour, style and his ability to command a room. He always put his family first and we know that he will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dean’s loved ones.
I was so sad to hear about Dean passing away. I will always remember him with such warm memories. I worked for Dean for 6 years as his receptionist and at times he acted like a grumpy old Bear but underneath I knew he was a soft Teddy Bear. I witnessed his kindness to his employees many times when they needed a favour.
Dean always treated me with great respect and I Truly Truly cared for him.
I remember him coming through the factory doors shouting “Brenette, order me 1000 yds of White material from China now. Drop everything and put the order through “”. And I did just that.
Every Friday him and Mr Pearce would have their 1 hour meeting without fail. Probably chatting about Golf!!!
Rest in peace Dean. You will be missed.

Our sincere sympathy and condolences to our Uncle Dean’s family – Aunt Helen, Bonnie, and Barrey.
Dean was a great guy and warmly welcomed us during our visits from Pennsylvania. He always raved about his juice drink that he made every morning – his secret to vitality. We would stay up late to watch the Blue Jays while catching up over gin and tonic.
He was very proud of his family and business and delighted that EPD was in capable hands. Down to earth despite his business success. In later years, his ongoing joke was that he went to work every day to simply “deliver the mail”.
Dean let me drive his BMW 7 Series after my university graduation only if I promised to not go too fast. During our last visit, we bonded over similar driving habits. Get moving people! Don’t you know how to drive?
Indeed, we will greatly miss Uncle Dean – may he rest in peace.
