Carol and I send our sincere condolences to the family, Sheryl, Mary Anne, Colin and grandchildren. We loved your mother dearly. She was a very precious devoted Catholic woman and the song, “There’s one more angel in heaven’ suits Cecilia perfectly. We celebrate her kind selfless life and will keep Cecilia and her family in our prayers and thoughts always. Sent with much love. Catherine
My condolences to the family . And thank god for the time she was with us.
Thank you Peter for your thoughtful condolences which bring us so much comfort at this difficult time
Thank you Catherine for your kind words! Both you and Carol went above and beyond with support and generosity. You brought Mom comfort in her time of need.
Thank you for the kindness, joy, support and care that you showed towards our mom/grandma. We can’t express enough what you and your sister’s acts of kindness meant to our mom/grandma and to our family. Also, thank you for you expressions of sympathy, which offer so much comfort during this time
Mum, Dad, Clive, Denise and I send our deepest sympathies to all of you. We will always remember A. Cissy fondly. She was always so hospitable on our frequent weekend visits to the Nairobi house, with her calm and good humour perfectly balancing the exuberance of U. Tinny as he walked around (refusing to sit!) listening to his well used record collection of “oldies”. She had the quiet confidence of a great teacher, and passed that on to her students (pre-exam geography tuitions in my case). We will miss them both, and we are sure they are now together, looking down at their children and grandchildren with pride. All our love and prayers at this difficult time.
She was a fantastic math teacher at St Mary’s and a wonderful person. Patient, kind and supportive. RIP.
Rest well Nana heartfelt condolences to Aunty marry anne, sheryl, Melissa and Michael,Marlene and uncle Mo
Sincere condolences to the entire family
The loss of Cissy Toacano is very painful. She was an amazing member of our Geography department in St. Mary’s. Personally, she welcomed me to the school warmly and helped me settle down to what was a foreign environment. She was not only a highly talented educator but a friend to all. She had a highly advanced sense of humor. I and many others will miss her dearly. RIP my friend.
You and your family. are in our prayers.
God bless you.
My deepest condolences to Mrs. Toscano’s family. She was an amazing woman. May her soul Rest In Peace!
To my classmates and I, Cecilia was fondly known as Mrs. Toscano. Many of us were privileged and fortunate to be her students at St. Mary’s School in Nairobi, Kenya. Our beloved Mathematics teacher was not only a brilliant mind but also a loving and caring parent; she treated us all as her sons. Cecilia will always live on in our hearts and minds. Rest in everlasting peace Mrs. Toscano.
Mrs Toscano was my maths teacher at St.Marys. She was an inspirational figure who was not only a brilliant maths teacher but an amazing human being. Always patient with us and ready to spend the time. May she rest in peace.
Dear Sheryl, MartAnne and Family and Colin
Our deepest sympathies!
Aunty Cecilia was a very sweet, caring and loving person. Nothing stopped her, she was game for anything.
May her soul Rest In Peace
I remember her nick name during my time was ‘Tosi’. Very knowledgeable, down to earth and stress free human being. Unfortunately, we did not get to interact after I left Saint Mary’s.
Our deepest sympathies and condolences Michelle, Melissa and family. May she rest in peace.
Our deepest condolences on your Mother and Grandmother’s passing. Mom looked forward to seeing your Mom at mass and the Legion of Mary. Your Mom and family will be on our prayers.
Mrs Toscano had the ability to gently chide the most unruly 3 rd former into meek compliance. A gentle and beautiful soul a kind presence in a male dominated environment . Miss the odd lift in your Citroen secretly fascinated by the air suspension 😀 . Although you were never my subject teacher you were a lovely kind maternal presence at the time we shared at saints. The gift you left was kindness and that kindness returns to mourn your loss to the Earth but celebrate your arrival in eternal bliss
Our deepest sympathies to all the Toscano Family, on the sad demise of your dear Mother Cissy. May she rest in peace.
We worked together at St. Mary,s. Nairobi.

and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
I have very fond memories of Mrs. Toscano from Saint Mary’s School. Mrs. Toscano was an excellent teacher – a knowledgeable and passionate instructor, who always encouraged her students to excel. Mrs. Toscano was ever calm and patient – even though her class full of teenage boys were frequently rambunctious, unruly, and always loud, and did not always appreciate the great opportunity that we were given to learn from a wonderful educator. Mary-Anne, your classmates has posted such warm tributes in the Saints Class of ’82 chat room – your Mum left lasting memories. Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your dear mother and grandmother. May God grant her eternal rest.

Thank you for helping mold us sometimes unruly boys at St. Marys high school into respectable young men and future leaders. I especially liked your Geography classes over 20 yrs ago and carry that knowledge to this day.
Whenever people tell me that they have assumed something, I remind them that it is not wise to do so because my geography teacher often said “never assume anything, because if you do, you’ll make an ass out of you and me”
Mrs Toscano‘s words have been popping into my mind several times over the last 36 years. She was a very good and helpful geography teacher.
Rest in peace, Mrs Toscano, and thanks for all the wisdom you imparted.
My deep sympathy to Cissy’s family. She was a wonderful teacher friend at St. Mary’s School where she was Dean of Women and I was Dean of Music. We had great times together at our weekly Dean’s meetings on Monday mornings.
She was a lovely lady and much admired by her students as well as teacher friends and the Holy Ghost Fathers. She helped make my years teaching at Saints a truly inspiring time.
May her soul rest in peace

The Toscano and Malik Families,
Would like to thank you for all the cards, flowers and kind expressions of sympathy shown following her passing. All of your support at this heart breaking time was a great comfort to us. We read each post and they brought a smile to our faces. So many of the stories we read resonated with the Mom/Grandma we knew and loved. It brought a lot of comfort knowing we were not grieving alone and that she is remembered with such affection.
Thank you for sharing and reminding us of the memories that we feel so blessed to have too.
