In Loving Memory of Natale Ritacco
elevated zwMkU It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Natale Ritacco, a cherished Papa, Nonno, Bisnonno and brother, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by his children at Southlake Regional Health Centre.
elevated zwMkU Natale was a proud Italian, born to Salvatore and Angelina Ritacco. In June 1956, he married the love of his life, our beloved mother, Annina. Together, they shared 66 beautiful years of marriage, filled with love, family and cherished memories, until her passing in February 2022.
elevated zwMkU Natale immigrated to Canada from Italy in June 1964, after having worked in both Italy and Germany. He worked hard to build a life for his family and was deeply proud of the life they created together in Canada.
elevated zwMkU He had a passion for hunting, raising rabbits, and most of all, spending quality time with family and friends. Natale was known for his lively spirit, his love of playing cards, and his Friday nights spent enjoying espresso and good company.
elevated zwMkU Natale was extremely proud of his Italian heritage and treasured the traditions and customs of his homeland. Family was always at the centre of his heart, and his love and devotion to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will forever be remembered.
elevated zwMkU He is survived by his four children, Angela (Robert), Franca, Cinzia and Salvatore (Pina). He will be reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife, Annina, and their first child, who was sadly lost at birth. We find comfort knowing that he is once again holding them in his arms, in the presence of Jesus. Natale’s legacy continues through his grandchildren, Jennifer (Sergio), Andrew, Mathew (Ariana), Vanessa (Justin), Samantha (Patrick), Natale (Amanda), Adamo, Sara (Mark) and Giordano, and his great-grandchildren, Isabella, Julian, Olivia, Giulia, Michael, Kate, Jacob and Owen.
elevated zwMkU He was a loving brother to Giuseppina, Concetta, Benito, Carla, and the late Emilio. He is survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Roberto and Lidia, and he has now joined his other beloved brother in laws and sister in laws in heaven.
elevated zwMkU Natale’s warmth, joy and lively spirit will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and through the many traditions, stories and memories he leaves behind.
elevated zwMkU May he rest peacefully in the arms of Jesus, reunited with the love of his life, until we meet again.
elevated zwMkU The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the staff at Newmarket Health Centre, where Natale spent the last four years of his life, and to the staff at Southlake Regional Health Centre for the compassionate and exceptional care they provided to Natale during his final days.

I’m so sorry for the loss of your beloved father, Natale. I will always remember him from his time with my mother at long-term care. I have such a fond memory of the two of them sitting next to each other, chatting away about something none of us could understand—but somehow, they understood each other perfectly. They would talk, nod their heads, and carry on their own little conversation. ❤️
I will always remember Natale’s wonderful smile and all his little quirks that made him who he was. He brought such a special presence to those around him and will truly be missed.

My deepest condolences to you and your family on the loss of Natale. Although I didn’t have the opportunity to know him very well, I feel that I came to know something about the kind of man he was through the love and devotion of his family—Cynthia, Angela, Sam, and Franca.
The care and dedication I witnessed when you visited him at the home spoke volumes about the love and respect you had for him. It was so evident that he was deeply loved, and that he had been a wonderful father and an important part of your lives. That kind of love is a beautiful reflection of the man he must have been.
I hope that in the difficult days ahead, you find comfort in the many memories you shared with him—the moments you laughed, the time you spent together, and all the little things that made him special to each of you. May those memories remain close to your hearts and bring you comfort and strength as you grieve.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this very difficult time.
