elevated X1YgE Neville Joseph Micallef, of Mississauga, Ontario, passed away on October 15, 2024.
elevated X1YgE Born on June 3, 1940, to Mary and Lewis Micallef in Qrendi, Malta, Neville began his career as a teacher in Malta before immigrating to Canada in 1964. He continued his teaching career in Canada until his retirement in 1999.
elevated X1YgE A talented craftsman, Neville took great joy in creating beautiful and functional pieces from stained glass, ceramics, metal, and wood. Woodworking was his particular passion, and he spent many hours in his extensive woodshop. From a young age, he also enjoyed dancing and theater, and he remained an avid dancer well into his retirement.
elevated X1YgE He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Edwin Micallef. He is survived by his three children: Karen Jaques and her husband John of Victoria, British Columbia; Kelly Butler and her husband Glen of Westville, Nova Scotia; and Johann Micallef and his wife Rachel of Toronto, Ontario. He also leaves behind his seven grandchildren—Owen, Iain, Amber, Jade, Brett, Emma, and Sophie—as well as his sister, Nancy Campbell of Oakville, Ontario, and his brother, Mike Micallef of Mississauga, Ontario.
elevated X1YgE Services will be held at Assumption Catholic Funeral Home, with a viewing at 10:00 a.m., the funeral at 11:00 a.m., and a reception at the funeral home to follow at noon.
