elevated 3jXeN Nicky Pik-Yan Chan was born in Hong Kong on March 15, 1973, to Pak Lok Ho (father) and Mui Kwan Ho (mother), and passed away in Toronto, Ontario at the age of 48, after a courageous 4-year battle with breast cancer. She is survived by her husband, Kelvin; her two children, Tyler and Arianna; her elder sister, Becky Ho; and her younger brother, Sylvester Ho.

elevated 3jXeN Nicky grew up in Hong Kong, and studied high school at the Methodist College. She completed her university degree at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, where she met and eventually married her college sweetheart, Kelvin.

elevated 3jXeN Nicky was ahead of her time with degrees in Environmental Studies and Data Programming. Very relevant in today’s world, her education served her well during her career at Rogers Communications for over 10 years. She was well-respected by her colleagues for her talent, dedication, and positive attitude.

elevated 3jXeN Nicky was sweet and kind, a gentle personality who seldom had a negative thing to say about anyone or anything. She was always modest and enjoyed the simple things in life, even though some of her favorite passions were eating, travelling, and window-shopping. At the top of her list was her family and for her children to thrive, to be healthy, happy, and to live into their full potential. Her biggest smiles were reserved for their successes, though she never bragged about her children, and despite her pride in them being exceptionally good and bright.

elevated 3jXeN Nicky was a loyal wife and friend; easy to talk to, easy to be with. Her courage, personal strength, and uncomplaining spirit will be long-remembered and cherished by her entire extended family and her friends, in Canada and across the globe.

elevated 3jXeN In Memory of Nicky, donations, may be made to the Princess Margaret Hospital.

elevated 3jXeN The family will receive friends at the Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home 211 Langstaff Road East (west of Bayview Ave.) from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday October 9, 2021. A Private Mass of Christian burial will take place within the funeral home in the Chapel of St. Joseph following the visitation.  Due to Covid-19 capacity restrictions, friends may have to wait to pay their respects during the visitation period, we are inviting family and friends to a walk-through visitation only to pay their respects, offer condolences and then kindly exit the building to allow for others to enter.
