elevated kWdqf It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nicola who was called to God at the age of 88.

elevated kWdqf A loving and devoted brother and uncle, he is survived by his brother Carmelo (Giudita) and will be most missed by his sister, Graziella Liut (Carlo), who had been his primary caregiver for the last number of years and was by his side for his peaceful final moments.  The memory of Nicola will linger long in the hearts of his family, including his many nieces and nephews whom he loved with great affection.  He is predeceased by his brothers Giuseppe, Francesco (Cristina), Mimmo, Armando (Lina) and Alfredo (Anna).

elevated kWdqf Born in Locri, Reggio Calabria, Nicola was the youngest son in a family of eight children and the older brother to Graziella who came along nine years later.  He moved to Toronto in 1959 along with his mother and siblings and found success as a real estate agent owing to his ease of connecting with people and a personality that was much grander  than his height.

elevated kWdqf Nicola enjoyed the finer things in life and was passionate for dancing, music, theatre, and opera; he loved to share a glass of cabernet sauvignon while discussing the intricacies of each.   To sit with him while listening to Pavarotti hit the high C in Nessun Dorma was to share in the nirvana of it all.  You couldn’t help but be infected by his enthusiasm.

He was a man who lived life to the fullest and who cast aside the pursuit of material things to focus on what’s most important – human connection.  He brought joy to others through his caring disposition and an enormous laugh that will continue to bellow in our memories.
