elevated 2Haxe It is with deep sorrow we share the passing of Pansy Maria Seaforth, 83 on Thursday, May 14th 2020. Pansy resided at The Elginwood Long Term Care facility, in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Her Loving sons Mark and Gregory were granted access to hold her tender hands and say their final good-byes just hours before. Pansy’s bright smile, sparkling eyes and boisterous laugh warmed everyone whoever encountered her. No one was spared. Pansy loved everyone equally – a rare soul who took the time to learn who you really were. Pansy made the conscious decision to see the best in every individual.

elevated 2Haxe Pansy Maria Blue was born in 1937 in Georgetown, Guyana, South America. She was a beautiful and compassionate young girl. At the young age of 20, Pansy would find the courage to board a ship by herself and make the long journey to Royal Derby hospital in England, to fulfill her dream of becoming a nurse and helping others. Pansy eventually married a shy but persistent man named Lennox Seaforth who was also from Guyana studying to become a dental technician in London. In Farnborough, Kent, the couple would have two rambunctious boys, Mark and Stanislaus. Opportunity would lead the young family from the U.K. to Canada where they first settled in Dartmouth and eventually in Fairview, Halifax. Pansy became a nurse at the Halifax Infirmary Hospital and years later charming Gregory was born. Pansy had so many passions: She was extremely proud of her West Indian heritage and loved to share it in music and cuisine. She was a trained seamstress and proudly sewed a few of her sons suits when they were young. Pansy’s heart was with her family and God. She played an important role at St. Benedict Parish at weekly Bible studies. A day rarely passed, that Pansy did not speak to or see her dear friend Lucille Marcoux. The two were inseparable and shared a love and affection usually seen only between the closest of sisters. Mom also developed a deep and lasting friendship with Beverly Brown who she first invited to a Special young black women’s “Coming of Age” event named the DEBUTANT’S BALL which Pansy played a part in creating in Nova Scotia. Pansy will be dearly missed by her three sons, Mark, Stanislaus and Gregory; her Daughters-in-Law Geri-Anne and Trina; her grandchildren Nicole, Simone, Jackson and Stella: her nephews Kirk and Mark Blue and many Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews. Pansy was predeceased by her mother Doris Blue, sister Norma Blue and her husband of 52 years Lennox Seaforth. A special thanks for the incredible love and support from the residents and staff of both The Elginwood Long Term Care facility and The Oak Ridges Retirement Home in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Cremation has taken place and because of the current restrictions of Covid-19, there will be no service or visitation. An Internment with only close immediate family will take place Saturday, May 23rd  at 11:00 am which will be recorded for viewing on ZOOM. Arrangements have been entrusted to Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, 211 Langstaff Road, East, Thornhill, Ontario L3T 3Z2. (905) 889-7467
