elevated Bopyc Obituary
elevated Bopyc PATRICIA STELLA (née Williams) THOMPSON, born on 21 April 1930 in Bihar, India, entered eternal life peacefully on 25 September 2026 in Seven Oaks Long Term Care Home in Scarborough, Ontario. She had been receiving palliative care from the wonderful caregiving staff of Seven Oaks for the previous week. She is deeply missed and mourned by her loving husband of 67 years, William Thompson, her devoted children, Jeff and Paula Thompson, and her precious grandchildren, Jeffrey, Ryan, and Jennifer Thompson Vandespyker, of whom she was so very proud. She was the last of twelve siblings to complete this earthly life, leaving behind many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews in Canada, England, and India who also cherish and celebrate her beloved memory. Always in good spirits, gentle, compassionate, and accepting, Patricia excelled at extending warm, generous, and delicious hospitality to everyone. She believed in the Resurrection, and looked forward to breaking the bonds of her own death. For her family and everyone who loved her, Pat(sy) – Mummy – Granny is the sweetest presence and the brightest star who continues to bless our lives with her special prayers. May Patricia, through the mercy of God, rest in eternal peace. +

I’m sorry that I can’t be there for Aunty Patsy’s Funeral Mass.
I am paraphrasing a poem I found, I hope it brings comfort at this difficult time:
She Is Gone
You can shed tears that she is gone or you can smile because she lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back or you can open your eyes and see all that she’s left.
Your heart can be empty because can’t see her or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can do what she’d want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
I remember when I was a young girl auntie Pat would always invite me to come and stay with them for a short bit in the summer and she would treat me like I was her own daughter and spoiled me while I was there! She was a terrific cook! I just remembered she was a kind and beautiful soul who always had a smile and hearty laugh especially with her sister Joan who she used to love to chat with daily. You could never separate those sisters! Love you and and will miss you, auntie Pat and may your soul rest in peace.
Aunty Pat will always remain in my heart as a loving close family friend going back to my earliest memories as a child in Jamshedpur. What fun our families had together. A. Pat is now cradled in the loving arms of our Lord and is another Angel looking over her beloved family.
Pat, a remarkably affectionate and generous soul who brought immense warmth and culinary magic into the lives of everyone she touched.
Pat, along with Bill, was the ultimate host. Their home was a sanctuary of comfort and joy, especially during the holidays, where they hosted us exclusively for many unforgettable Thanksgiving dinners. Cooking was her love language, and she was equally a master of authentic Indian cuisine and vibrant western dishes.
Her thoughtfulness shone brightest in the kitchen. Knowing about my sweet tooth, Pat would always bake special custom cakes just for me, alongside her signature, comforting homemade cheese bread. She poured her heart into every recipe.
One of our lasting memories of Pat’s cooking was her legendary preparation of Khalil’s Mutton Masala. When she told me about it for the first time, I playfully “corrected” her, insisting it must be Khaliq’s Mutton Masala. But of course, Pat was entirely right—it was Khalil’s, and like everything she made, it was absolutely perfect.
Pat leaves behind a legacy of overflowing plates and a profound kindness that can never be replaced. Her absence leaves a void that can only be filled with her sweetest memories. Rest in peace, our beautiful friend.
May you see the infinite beauty of the face of God, Pat.
There are people who leave a lasting mark on your heart, and dear Pat was one of them. We are so grateful for the time we shared. The warmth, affection, laughter, and the memories we’ll hold onto forever.
Rest in Eternal Peace dear friend. Amen.
Our deepest condolences and love to dear Bill and the entire family.
Oh Aunty Pat.
I recall fondly the memories of Paula and I sneaking little samplings of the dinners at the CFM (Catholic Family Meetings) in Jamshedpur while the adults were busy chatting. I remember your voice and your laugh when we were young as you called us for dinners. I remember visiting you and Uncle Bill at Christmas and enjoying everything. I remember you do very fondly. You were always my Aunty Pat. I loved you.
Dear Bill, Pat was such a lovely lady, always with such an infectious smile. I know you will miss her a great deal. My sympathies.
Reg Haney, friend from Seven Oaks.
My Sincere Condolences Bill to you and your family. I wish you strength and peace in the days to come. Thank you for the time we spent together it was for all of us a time to have some small talk which I think we needed.
I am so sorry I can’t be with you at the funeral since I have an appointment I have to keep. Sincerely. Tony

Harry and I only got to know Bill and Pat over the summer at Seven Oaks. Pat will surely be missed.
To Bill and all her Family and Friends, may your memories of Pat be a blessing for you all.

Paula and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. May your mom rest in peace. My sincere condolences. XO
Dearest Bill, Jeff, Paula and family,
My deepest condolences on the passing of
‘Stella’. You were blessed with one who was an amazing lady in your lives – a beloved wife, a caring mother and grandmother.
Looking back, I cannot believe that I first met her about 56 years ago in Jamshedpur. Memories of the wonderful times Terry and I enjoyed her company and her cooking come rushing back. The crazy games we played in Mercy Hospital before you emigrated to Canada. We kept up our friendship traveling back and forth between the USA and your Toronto home. I am sure Terry was there to welcome her to her heavenly home.
I am sorry I was not able to be physically present at the Funeral Mass but I was with you through the Livestreaming. It was a beautiful Mass and Jeff did an excellent job in praising her and describing what a gem of a person she was.
Goodbye my special friend, Stella. Rest in peace.
May the good Lord bless and strengthen each one of you during the coming days. It is a comfort knowing that she is safe in Heaven.
With lots of love,
Mario Campos
Hi Mario.
Dany Dias (Danielle Giggie) here. I was 10 when we left Jampot!
I was so moved seeing your message.
I remember you well. We met in Toronto many years back too.
Yes, Aunty Pat was a very special lady.
And I’m so sorry to hear about your dear Terry.
I will always remember going to Aunty Patsy and Uncle Bills house as a child…I was enamoured with her Royal Doulton Collection….Aunty Pat was one of the greats! An amazing cook – an amazing hostess a perfect mother and grandmother. I was grateful to get her recipe for making parathas and green pilau! I videotaped it – just to be sure I was making it the exact way she did! She joins my grandmother now and the rest of her siblings the last of the Williams – I know they’re all waiting for her with open arms. See you again Aunty Patsy! Love, Debbie oxox
Aunt Pat your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You will stay forever in our hearts.
Love, Kay & Penny
Pat was a big part of our IIT ladies group. It was amazing how She hugged me with so much love and affection the first time we met. Later I realized, giving her love to all was what she did best. Enjoyed going to Pat and Bill’s home for the parties and the delicious food cooked by her. I will always remember her cheerful and warm spirits and her loving nature.
Rest in peace, Dear Pat.
Our deepest condolences to Dear Bill and family.
I have fond memories of Aunty Pat and Uncle Bill from when I was a child. I remember going to their house every year when they’d have all the extended Thompson family over. What sticks out the most was Aunty Pat’s green pulao rice and also her dancing Royal Doulton figurines on each of the end tables in the living room. I also used to love going in to that crawl space in the basement.
She will be missed greatly <3
