In Memory of Uncle Paul
elevated De7Q7 Paul Carwana lived a full, adventurous, and remarkable life.
elevated De7Q7 He was a devoted son to his parents, John and Carmella Carwana, and the last of his siblings—Rita, Florence, Manuel, and Dolores. His family was always an important part of his life, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and memories that will stay with us for years to come.
elevated De7Q7 Paul spent his working life building a career with Canada Post, but retirement certainly didn’t slow him down. He was a true world traveler, and there are not many countries he didn’t visit. He loved to explore the world, but he also had a special love for his own country. He travelled extensively throughout Canada, discovering its many provinces, communities, and beautiful places. For Paul, the journey was just as important as the destination.
elevated De7Q7 A very special place in Paul’s life was held by his lifelong very close friend and traveling companion, Shirley. Their friendship and adventures together were a meaningful part of his journey through life.
elevated De7Q7 Paul was a loving uncle to Gregory, Gary, Linda, Darlene, Kathy, John, Raymond, Larry, and Debbie, and a great-uncle to Jay, Jennifer, Candace, Jason, Samantha, Warren, Nathan, Tyler, Madeleine, Michael, Lisa, Derek, Aaron, Shane, and Alisa. He brought his own unique personality and sense of humour to every family gathering.
elevated De7Q7 And what a sense of humour it was! Paul’s sense of humour was truly over the top. Even during his final days in the hospital and hospice, he managed to find ways to make people laugh. That was Paul—right to the end.
elevated De7Q7 At the incredible age of 93, Paul had mastered the internet and technology like someone half his age. When it came to anything technical, he was a pro. He kept up with world affairs, followed what was happening around the globe, and, of course, loved exploring his many conspiracy theories. We could always count on Paul to have a theory or two to share—and he was usually more than happy to explain it!
elevated De7Q7 Paul lived life on his own terms. He was curious, adventurous, intelligent, funny, and above all, someone who will be remembered with great affection.
elevated De7Q7 He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. His passing leaves a gigantic hole in our family, but the stories, laughter, adventures, and memories he gave us will remain forever.
elevated De7Q7 Rest in peace, Uncle Paul. You certainly lived one hell of a life.
