elevated 2UAFE It is with deep sorrow our family announces the passing of our loving mother Paula Muench (nee Merlack) just shy of her 97th Birthday, on July 15th 2023 after a brief hospitalization at North York General Hospital.

elevated 2UAFE Born on August 4, 1926 in the former Yugoslavia, Paula immigrated to Toronto in 1952 with her then- husband Willi.

elevated 2UAFE A “Willowmom”, Paula raised her 5 children at the Blake Ave residence she lived in for 61 years. She had an affinity to sport and music, which she instilled upon her children. Paula adored her garden, was a fabulous cook, loved to bake, was an avid reader and enjoyed following tennis.

elevated 2UAFE Paula was the owner of “Paula’s Grill” in midtown Toronto. She was an employee of The Toronto Historical Board and a dedicated PSW  with The Visiting Homemaker’s Association for over 25 years before retiring in 1993.

elevated 2UAFE  Paula had a sharp mind and great humour. She possessed amazing inner strength, having survived WWII and other hardships. During Covid, she participated in weekly Zoom calls with her family members in Canada and across the globe.

elevated 2UAFE Paula was a caring neighbour, loyal friend and active in her Community.

elevated 2UAFE Paula was kind, courageous, thoughtful, and wise beyond her years.

elevated 2UAFE Paula passed on her gifts to Gottfried (Beverley), Rolf (Janet), Hans (Annette), Barbara and Thomas (Anahita).

elevated 2UAFE She will be eternally remembered by her grandchildren Peter (Amber) and David (Sara), Stephen and Julie-Ann, James and Stefanie, Felicia and Julian, as well as her great grandchildren newborn Elaine, Jagger, Coby, Addison and Brayden.

elevated 2UAFE As per her wish, Paula has been cremated.
