elevated 4y5o1 A life interrupted. Suddenly and with family at her side, Paula passed away on December 15, 2021 in her 64th year. Predeceased by her parents, Terry and Thelma Hryhor and sister Iris. Loving wife of her high school sweetheart, Brian Petrie, and devoted mother to Meagan and Lyndsay. Fondly remembered by her sisters, Sandra (Roberto), Sheree, and Ellen (Oliver) and nephew, Alexander.
elevated 4y5o1 In 1983 after a lengthy courtship, Brian and Paula married. Motherhood came naturally to her when she was blessed with the birth of Meagan followed a short while after by Lyndsay. She was also a model of sisterhood. Loving her was easy.
elevated 4y5o1 Paula spent her professional life in the Human Resources industry, having worked for multiple organizations in the course of a 35-year career. She was well-respected by her peers in her profession, sought after for her expertise, strong work ethic and meticulousness.
elevated 4y5o1 She and Brian travelled the world together, entertained family on many occasions and enjoyed golf, weather permitting. Paula had many gifts and talents that we all admired; an aptitude for interior design, an ease for entertaining, and baked the best brownies ever.
elevated 4y5o1 We will forever miss her beautiful smile, contagious laughter, and her grace. As anticipated, we are bereft.
elevated 4y5o1 Private funeral arrangements will be held on Tuesday December 28, 2021, with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Toronto Star Santa Claus Fund.
Family and friends are invited to view the Funeral Mass on Tuesday December 28,2021 at 12:00 pm.

Brian and Family – My Sincere condolences on your loss. Paula was in my Law class during my first year Teaching at Parkdale. She was the type of student that all teachers dream of – bright – dedicated and involved. She will be missed.
Brian & family,
I am devastated, as anyone who knew Paula would be right now. Its been many years since we all attended PCI, but Paula & I would randomly run into each other at Costco over the years. Most recently- this past summer. We always recognized each other & took the time to talk even when in a rush. She was a genuine beautiful person inside & out. Brian I am really glad that you two found each other early in life & had a wonderful family together. I hope the love you all share will get you through these moments of despair & the memories will keep her alive in your hearts.
Brian, Nelly and I have been thinking and praying for you since hearing of the passing of your dear Paula. I can’t imagine what you and the girls are going through right now but you were blessed to have her as part of your life and that is why her lose is so great. In time you will find strength and your treasured memories with help bring some comfort and allow you to celebrate her life. Till then. God grant you strength to get through these days.
Our condolences to you and your family, Brian!
Our deepest condolences Brian, Meagan, & Lynsey.

To the Petrie family.
Paula and I worked in the Human Resources dept many years ago at the Continental Bank which became Lloyds Bank. Unfortunately, we both moved on to different companies and we lost touch.
I came across her name on LinkedIn with the hope of connecting only to learn this sad information of her passing. I remember her to be a kind and caring person, always with a pleasant smile.
Warmest condolences to the family.
First born. Big sis. Responsible one. Loving her was easy. Unlike me, she had no hard edges, only soft ones. When our sister Iris died in childhood, Paula became a mama bear, a helicopter sister, if you will, in her own quiet way. And she did so for decades. She thought I was funny, I thought she was brainy. And beautiful. She had talents and gifts galore and shared them and her smile with all she met. If she only knew how much I valued and heeded her wise counsel, she’d be surprised. I can only imagine the receiving line that greeted her in heaven. I will grow old waiting to meet her again within the veil where there will be no more separation. Godspeed Paula. Vichnaya Pamyat. ❤️🫶 xoxoxo
