elevated 5zwDY It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Peter Forde on Saturday September 4th, 2021 surrounded by family. He will be deeply missed.
elevated 5zwDY We will always remember Peter as a loving husband of Jo-Anne, a wonderful father of Stephen (Sarah), Samantha (Mike), Natalie (Jayrooll), and Vince, and a caring grandfather to Selena, Spencer, Arabella, and Jhaylie. Peter is predeceased by his loving Mother, Dorothy Forde, and recently his Father, Fred Forde. Peter was a kind and generous brother, uncle, cousin and dear friend to many. Peter enjoyed watching his favourite hockey team, the Montreal Canadiens.
elevated 5zwDY Peter was born in Montreal and moved with his family to Toronto where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from York University and his Chartered Professional Accountant designation. His career of over 40 years included his time at KPMG, Bramalea, and Nexacor and since 1998, Peter has been an integral part of the leadership team of SmartCentres with his most recent role being that of President and CEO. Peter touched the lives of many by sharing his gifts of knowledge and expertise generously. He personally guided, mentored and has been a role model to so many peers, associates, and friends. Peter exuded a calm and warm strength in his leadership to all those that were lucky to work with him. He was admired and respected by all. Of his abundant qualities, he was an exceptional gentleman who had a humble grace.

elevated 5zwDY Visitation will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home at 211 Langstaff Road East (Bayview & South of Hwy 407), Thursday September 9th from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm & Friday September 10th from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm. Please note that only 50 people are allowed in the room at any given time. As a reminder, masks must be worn by everyone.

He was an unbelievable man – kind, humble, caring and funny.
I will forever cherish all the memories I have of him while working at Smart Centres as well as at family functions.

Matteo and Lucas will remember him as the nice man with the moustache who always smiled so warmly at the boys when they entered the room.

I just found out about Peter’s passing and feel horrible. Although we never met, I came to know Peter when he first joined First Professional Management back in 1998. My office brokered the Benefits programs and that’s when Peter and I first met. We maintained the relationship over the 20+ years and worked closely with Peter many many times. I didn’t know Peter outside of the work walls, but I can contest that inside the walls he was an honest, admirable, thoughtful, conscientious man who earned the attention and respect of others. He will surely be missed.

As Security support staff to Smartcentres Home Office, I related closely with Peter. Peter was extremely compassionate and a gentleman per excellence. Peter’s humility thought me a a great deal of lessons. As a leader, his door was always open to all. He was a great listener with solutions to almost every problem. I, together with my household, have been devastated since we heard about the sudden death of Peter Forde.
Our prayers are with Jo-Anne and Peter’s entire family at this difficult time.
