elevated vN9wo Obituary

elevated vN9wo With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Peter Michael Colangelo on Saturday, May 2, 2026, who passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.

elevated vN9wo Born in Foggia, Italy, Peter later moved to Canada, where he built a life rooted in hard work, devotion to family, and deep compassion for others.

elevated vN9wo From a young age, he took on great responsibility, helping to support his immigrant parents and younger family members with quiet strength and consideration. Those who knew Peter knew he was someone people naturally turned to for advice, guidance, and support. To know him was to love him.

elevated vN9wo Over the years, Peter enjoyed a distinguished career in sales at Nestlé, where he built lifelong relationships that remained with him throughout his life. He later became the owner of multiple Pet Valu locations, where he built a business grounded in hard work, kindness, and dedication. Peter took great pride in welcoming his family into the business and was deeply respected for the genuine care and fairness he showed to his employees throughout the years. He also had a deep love for animals and held a special soft spot for the many animals in need that came through his stores.

elevated vN9wo After a well-deserved retirement, Peter embraced life with a free and joyful spirit. He carried a quiet wisdom and humility that made those around him feel at ease. He loved reading, collecting and selling books, enjoying Friday night date nights with Debra, and catching up over lunches with his children. He deeply cherished family gatherings, celebrations, and time spent with friends. Peter will be remembered for his warm spirit, quiet strength, positivity, and the unwavering support he gave so freely to others. To many, he was not only deeply loved, but truly the favorite — a steady, trusted, and cherished presence in the lives of so many.

elevated vN9wo Peter is survived by his devoted spouse, Debra; his son, Christopher; and his daughter, Juliana (Nuno). He is also survived by his brother Lou (Charlotte), his brother Tony (Lina), and his sister Lina (Ottavio).

elevated vN9wo If desired, donations may be made in Peter’s memory to The Kidney Foundation of Canada. Peter faced the challenges of kidney failure twice with remarkable grace and strength. He lovingly received his first kidney donation from his devoted spouse, Debra, and his second from a generous anonymous donor.

elevated vN9wo Peter treasured the time he spent with those he loved most and will be fondly remembered by his family and many friends, whose lives were enriched by his wisdom, kindness, and unwavering love.
