elevated ac4sL Obituary

elevated ac4sL It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Quintina Sturino (nee Basile), at the age of 88 on Sunday, April 24, 2022.  Beloved wife of the late Francesco Sturino.  Cherished mother of Joseph Sturino, Gino Sturino and his wife Mary Elizabeth.  Devoted and proudest nonna of David and Joseph.

elevated ac4sL Quintina was born on November 11, 1933 in Rende, Cosenza, Calabria, Italy.  Loving daughter of the late Pasquale and Emilia Basile.  Quintina had three sisters, all deceased in Italy, namely Ida, Rosetta, and Giuseppina.

elevated ac4sL Quintina had a sunny disposition and brought a smile to all those who met her. She participated in senior Italian clubs and she made many friends. Her love for her family knew no bounds. In the workplace she was always admired by her employers as a top performer and fast learner; and, they loved her integrity, her dependability and honesty. In Toronto she was a parishioner at St. Alphonsus Parish and she also attended St. Joseph the Worker Catholic church in Thornhill. In Montreal she was a devoted parishioner at Mary Queen of the World Cathedral where she found much peace and comfort. Quintina Sturino left a legacy of love to all those she leaves behind. Quintina will forever be remembered by all who knew her here in Canada and Italy.

elevated ac4sL A wife, a mother, a grandma too,
This is the legacy we have from you.
You taught us love and how to fight,
You gave us strength, you gave us might.
A stronger person would be hard to find,
And in your heart, you were always kind.
You fought for us all in one way or another,
Not just as a wife not just as a mother.
For all of us you gave your best,
Now the time has come for you to rest.
So go in peace, you’ve earned your sleep,
Your love in our hearts, we’ll eternally keep
