We regretfully announce the passing of Raquel Batalha, who passed away surrounded by her loved ones on July 1st, 2025. Raquel had a difficult battle with cancer and is finally at rest. She will be forever loved and forever remembered.
Raquel is survived by her parents Olinda and Oscar, and her two sisters, Sandra and Claudia.
Raquel grew up in Macau, where she attended Santa Rosa De Lima primary and secondary school. She immigrated to Toronto Canada in 1992 and attained her diploma in Library and Information Technology. She worked most of her time at I’m Clocks and Sears where she enjoyed building relationships with customers. Despite any struggles that she had encountered, Raquel always faced them with optimism and lived life to the fullest. She loved food, travel, kewpie dolls, movies, dogs, shoes, and above all- her family and her friends.
She was always the first to demonstrate acceptance and grace, and always played a major role to ensure her family and friends stay connected.

elevated g8d9g Our family is grateful to know that Raquel is finally at peace, and is now united with her loved ones who passed away before her.
In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Yee Hong Centre in Raquel’s honour.
My deepest condolences to Olinda Xavier, Oscar Batalha and her siblings Sandra and Claudia and her extended family members and devoted close friends.
Raquel’s positive disposition and zest for life especially food will forever remain in my thoughts.
I never knew her strength until she was diagnosed with cancer. She fought like a warrior and never gave up till the end. My deepest respect for you!
Raquel, you will always be loved and remembered ✝️🍱🌈 and may you rest in peace with God🙏

You were one of the kindest people I have ever known.
Every situation seemed so light with you in it.
And towards the end, you became my hero.

I knew Raquel through my niece Christine and Bobo’s mom Grace. Raquel was a lovable and cheerful person. She’s always wearing a smile on her face. She’s absolutely incredible and strong in fighting her illness battle.
RIP Raquel! You’re now in God’s hands. Your smiling face will always stay in our hearts and you’ll be missed by us!💖

Dear Quel,
I could reunite with the SRL girls only because of you. I felt lost from my past, but you have brought back my good old memories. This means a lot to me. You are influential and a strong fighter. You live as an actual person, with no pretenses. You are always cheerful and have a smile on your face, not only in your good times but also in your bad times. How beautiful you are that you have gained all of our love. Although you are not with us now, we are grateful that you are with our caring God, a place where there is no more pain or suffering but joy and peace. We are only temporarily separated, and we will be reunited again. I pray in the name of our Mighty God, Amen.
