elevated rrsno Obituary
Resurreccion Ongkingco Raqueño (aka Lola Rexie, Nanay, or Choling) is an extremely
thoughtful, caring, considerate, generous, and strong woman, in both spirit and heart.
Her sense of humour, sense of adventure, smile, and quick wit won the hearts of many beyond
the reaches of her family and friends. She touched the lives of everyone she met, even for just a
brief moment.
She believes the secret to life is to “think positive about everyone and everything in life”.
Lola Rexie left this world peacefully. She drifted away into a peaceful sleep with her daughter, Nelfia and granddaughter, Michelle by her side on Monday, June 14, 2021.
Her wish to be surrounded by family, in her home, on her passing, were granted.
Our family is extremely grateful, and honoured to have been graced with Lola Rexie’s life here
on Earth and thankful that our prayers for a peaceful farewell and more time with her were
honoured by our Lord Jesus Christ and the universe at large.
She had one last chance to see and spend more time with her loved ones when she came back
to life on Thursday, June 10, 2021 (the day she almost died).
Lola Rexie hadn’t recalled that day, and said “maybe ‘they’ were calling but I didn’t respond,
it’s not my time yet” and laughed.
She had moments of clarity after her resurrection and her last few days were filled with
spending time with family, video calls with family around the world, cracking jokes, laughing,
praying, and listening to her favorite music.
Lola Rexie was everyone’s “favorite” at the long term care home she lived at. The staff at her
home are all real life superheroes and…family.
We will all miss Lola Rexie’s laugh, her jokes, her infectious smile, and most of all the way she
said “I love you”.
She was truly loved and will truly be missed.
