On November 26, 2023 at age 93 surrounded by the love of her family. Beloved wife of Raymond (passed in 1995) and devoted mother of Peter (Karen), Mary-Jo (Mike) Guidi, Michelle (Bob) Richards, Marilyn (Stephen Brown), Maureen (Steve) Wilson and Margaret (David Bagley). Loved Grandma of Daniel and Catherine Kerr-Cresswell, James and Joseph Guidi, Matthew and Jonathan Richards, Keith and Scott Wilson. Also survived by sisters-in-law Pauline O’Gorman and Sr. Frances Cresswell C.N.D. and many nieces and nephews. Rita was the youngest and last surviving child of Michael and Bridget Farrell. Predeceased by her siblings Margaret (McInnes), Lawrence, William, Peter, Catherine, Helen (Dunn), Frank and Theresa. Also predeceased by her daughter-in-law Danielle Kerr-Cresswell. If desired, donations may be made to the
Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.

My condolences to everyone, I am glad I got to meet and spend time with her when I was younger you will be missed Auntie Rita
Freda McWilliams and family would like to express our condolences to the Cresswell extended family. Ray worked at IBM with Neill McWilliams (Freda’s spouse) and as such Freda met Rita at various events and enjoyed her time with her which extended to phone calls over the years. The family is in our prayers, may she rest in peace.
I know there are no words that can ease your pain. Just to let you know I’m always here for support no matter the circumstances.

Hi Michelle. Annmarie just told me about Rita’s passing. I am so so sorry for your loss. You were such a devoted daughter and very very good with her. I will never forget Rita’s feistiness, her love for her stuffed animals and little dolls, even to the point of trying to feed them. She had a sweet side to her, even in the midst of expressing her strong disapproval towards whoever was trying to help her. She was such a character and often made me laugh. She loved to dance when the guitar player came to visit. I always enjoyed watching her. I hope you find some peace knowing that you were a wonderful daughter and your mother is no longer in pain or struggling. I’m sure life feels just a bit empty right now.
