elevated osBPc Obituary
elevated osBPc It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rita Meschino on August 3, 2023 at the age of 97. Beloved wife of 73 years to Joe. Caring and devoted mother to MaryLynne (Robert), Joseph (Lily), Michael (Lucy) and Lisa. Proud grandma to Claire, Martin, Monica (Adrian), Catherine, Matthew (Cristina), Laura, Mark (Darby), and great grandma to Hailey, Katherine and James.
elevated osBPc Rita was a creative, passionate and caring soul grounded by her strong Catholic faith. Prior to her marriage she did factory work to support the war effort, and worked as a talented stylist at her father’s hair salon. After marrying the love of her life, Joe, she devoted herself to raising her family, filling her home with love and security, music, dancing, and laughter.
elevated osBPc After her own family was raised, Rita used her extraordinary connection with children to become a special education assistant. In later years, she enjoyed using her leisure time to pursue her passion for art and tai chi and to spend time with friends.
elevated osBPc Her resilience, strength, and courage sustained her through her long journey with Alzheimer’s and was an inspiring testament to her love of life.
elevated osBPc In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

I’m so sorry to learn of the passing of your dear Mom. I remember her as a power house and a true force of nature! Her smile was genuine and infectious and her love and devotion to her family and community was her supreme mission in life and she gave it her all to the highest level! May her memory stay strong in the hearts and minds of all who had the benefit of knowing her.
Lisa, to you and your family, my sincerest condolences.
Auntie Rita and my mom, her sister Anne, were the true heroes and inspiration for my life adventures. When people tell me I must be so strong to do my job and live my life the way I have, I always said I got it from my mom and her sister. Their strength apart was inspiring but together they were invincible. Thank you Auntie Rita for sharing your strength and helping us all to laugh through the good times and the bad. Rest in peace
What a wonderful woman! Thinking of you dear Lisa and your family at this time. Sending lots of love ❤️
