It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rita Turner at the age of 94.  A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she left a legacy of love, faith, and adventure.

elevated r9tsL Daughter of Albert Butler and Dorothy Butler (nee O’Connor) and loving wife to John Turner (d.2015) and Robert Arthur McAlear (d.1978).

elevated r9tsL Rita was the devoted mother of eight children whom she raised with unwavering dedication, including Eileen McAlear (d,2024) (Michael), Anne McAlear (Paul), Mary Shields (Andy), David McAlear, Michael McAlear (Linda), Patricia Bischoff (Chris), Jane McAlear (Ross), and Adele McAlear.

elevated r9tsL Cherished grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and will be deeply missed by all.

elevated r9tsL Rita’s deep Catholic faith was the cornerstone of her life.  A devout member of her parish, she not only attended Mass regularly but also sang in the choir. When she was a young mother she got her pilot’s license, she travelled around the world many times, and meticulously researched her family genealogy, Rita was a woman of remarkable spirit and her life was a testament to the values of faith, family and perseverance.
