elevated KrOQr Obituary
elevated KrOQr It is with solemn hearts we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Gordon Kennedy (76), son of the late Ruth and Howard Kennedy. Soul mate and devoted husband to Angela (nee Vito). Loving father to David (Alyssa) and Robert. Very proud grandpa to Alexander and Rowan. Adored brother to Sandi (Brian pre-deceased) and Alan (Ivan). Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances. He will be sorely missed by many.
elevated KrOQr Bob graduated in 1975 from the University of Waterloo and fulfilled an honours BA degree in English which was instrumental in the successful ventures of two advertising/marketing communications agencies (McIntyre Kennedy and Matrix Creative). As a businessman, Bob forged many acquaintances of which several quickly became close friends.
elevated KrOQr Bob had many interests throughout his life, but mainly tennis, golf, getting together with friends for a drink or meal and vacationing in St. Martin — but music was his greatest passion. As a self-taught guitarist and then bassist, he played in many bands throughout his youth into his adult years including the popular Beatles cover band, Let’s Get Back.
elevated KrOQr Bob had incredibly sharp wit that often resulted in many moments of laughter and attempted retaliation. He was also very compassionate, often wanting to help other people as he felt extremely grateful for the many gifts afforded in his own life.
elevated KrOQr We’d like to express our thanks to all the PSWs and nurses who provided excellent home care through the Spectrum Health Care program. Also our appreciation of the excellent care provided by Dr. Mavrogiannis and all the staff at Dorothy Ley Hospice for their tender and compassionate attention to his needs throughout his final week. Without your assistance and guidance, Bob’s final months would have been even more challenging to navigate. We are eternally grateful to you all.
elevated KrOQr In lieu of flowers, any gifts of kindness can be made, in Bob’s honour, to MusiCounts, the Dorothy Ley Hospice or the Canadian Lung Association. (Click on the desired charity to donate.)

My deepest condolences to all. I remember Bob as a very warm and humourous man. Always is an upbeat mood and ready to share a smile.
R.I.P.
So sorry Angela . You and Bob were very special to us. Take care my friend. Carolyn
Bob was such a great human being who i had the honour to serve him as his pharmacist for the last few years , such a honorable man with a beautiful smile and positive attitude even in his most painful moments. He will definitely be missed .may his soul rest in peace.
Bob and I have been friends since grade school. So so many nights we listened to Bob play his guitar and sing many songs especially the Beatles. Many beers and some whiskey were consumed on those evenings. So so many memories. Such a fine person . He will be missed by many people
Our deepest condolences to the family. We remember Bob as a kind and a gentle soul and certainly Angela’s soulmate. May he rest in peace.
I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of my friend, Bob Kennedy. He was not only like a wise big brother and advisor to me, but also a valued and respected business partner. His ever-present smile, brilliant wit, and dark humour brought immeasurable laughter, brightening up even the darkest situations. He was generous with his time, sincerely compassionate, and genuinely kind. I will always remember Bob for his intelligence, creativity, and all the extremely funny — albeit sick and twisted — jokes he told that would leave me convulsing with laughter. Bob had such a big and bright personality that he leaves a deep pool of sorrow at his loss. My heart goes out to his loved ones who must surely be feeling unbearable sorrow. I hope that he’s now in Heaven, singing a Beatles song with the angels…and telling them that he never really believed they existed.
“Hey Jude, don’t make it bad.
Take a sad song and make it better.
Remember to let her into your heart,
Then you can start to make it better.”
Rest in peace, Bob. Thank you for being a part of my life. You were a good man.
Deepest condolences to Angela and the family. Bob was a great friend and fellow musician and we spent many happy days and gigs together laughing and playing music we enjoyed. A kindred spirit who can never be replaced.
Our deepest Condolences to all who loved Bob. May he rest in peace eternal. 🙏🏻✝️
My sincere condolences to Angela and Bob’s extended family for their loss. He was a remarkable individual who will be deeply missed by so many.
Angela & family, my sincere condolences. I met Bob back in 2014. Bob always had a smile when we got together. He did some amazing work for our association. He had a way with words and everything sounded so much better to publish. I loved the banter between Bob & myself at lunches and meetings. We talked about playing guitar, he the consummate pro and me the amateur. The one thing I did have over Bob was golf.
Bob rest in peace and to Angela and family, when the time is right, the memories will always be there.
I am truly saddened by the loss of our dear friend Bob. He and my late husband Larry were close friends since kindergarten, played together in many bands and were always happy to spend time together. He will be sorely missed by my two sons Tyler and Casey, and myself. I pray Angela and sons Rob and David will take comfort in their many happy memories together and the knowledge that we will all be reunited again someday. God Bless You.
