elevated TOvC5 Suddenly at home on Monday January 13, 2020 at the age of 71. Loving Father of Carrie Papez (Drew), Denise De Sanctis (Remo). Beloved Grampa of Andrew and Danielle Papez and Olivia and Sophia De Sanctis. Dear Brother of Geri Coker and the late Vince Sampana and Marilyn Searle. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. If desired, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
Bob was our dearest friends’ dad. He was an amazing man who was loved and respected by all who met him. He will always be remembered for being a hardworking, loving father who was a pillar of strength. His sudden passing is a shock to everyone who knew and loved him. To his family, my sincerest condolences and prayers. You will never be forgotten. RIP Bob ❤️
My dad was many things to many people. To me he was my hero and best friend. He taught us to always respect everybody and treat them the same way you would want to be treated. He taught us to be caring and proud. My dad always said if your going to do something you do it right.
He loved his family and cherished his friends both old and new. I will miss seeing him and hearing his voice but i know he will always be with me. Rest in peace dad I love you with all my heart.

My heart is breaking right now for his daughters!! I know how much he meant to them. I was so involved with Carrie’s entry into womanhood along with Bob. He was truly a wonderful father and always wanted the best for them. RIP Bob and know you did it wonderful job as their father. You will be so missed on this earth! 💔

Oh uncle Robbie, so sorry to be reading this. I have many memories and old photos of all the Boxing day and New Years day big family get togethers with grandma and grandpa, all the aunts, uncles and cousins! And dogs, always the dogs! It was a joyous childhood to be a part of. I loved you.

I am so sorry to hear of Uncle Robbie’s passing.
Time and years go by, we grow and gain our own families but the one thing we do not lose is the love in our hearts for our loved ones once they are gone. All the memories created and cherished in our hearts this remains forever.
For this I am truly thankful we had this!
Family meant everything to my Dad Jim Sampano (deceased), who was cousin to Rob.
All of the family gatherings at your Grandparents, Euchre nights, Christmas, Sunday lunches after mass and your Grandmas Sampano serving Great Grandfather Vincenzo’s secret sugo and meatballs recipe. In this I can hear and see Uncle Robbie’s infectious smile and laugh, those eyes that danced with so much love for you both.
Now you grieve the loss of your Father, I pray that in days to come the grief you have in your hearts will turn to joy as you recall how your Father impacted your lives.
Remember this no one can ever take away from your hearts the man that showed you and demonstrated love. Your first love he will always be. 💖💕
Heaven gained another one of our family members and the Euchre table has grown by one more. 💗

Carrie and Denise, I am still blown away at the passing of your dad. I remember the good old days growing up at Grandravine, hanging out at your place, cranking the stereo to Saga and Toto. Hanging out for late night parties till we ran out of beer and walking for miles at 4 in the morning to find a variety store cause everyone was out of smoke. Swinging on that tree in the back yard till Carrie fell and hurt her wrist…then your dad cutting the rope down. Man we were pissed at him. I remember him getting everyone together on sunday afternoons to play baseball at grandravine park. I remember going to him for advice on anything that was bothering me, and he always had that open door policy. The good old days. I will never forget him.

I’ve already heard the news so this won’t reach you via text but whoever does receive this I just want them to know, how loved you were and how you played such an integral role in my life. You were one of my best friends, and even though we were years apart we always had the best conversations (arguments most of the time) but even though we would argue you always wanted to see pictures of my family and u never EVER missed a holiday to send me well wishes. You were one of the best friends I’ve ever met and I wish we could sit down for “a last one for the ditch” and another fun argument. To whoever does receive this.
Bob was a friend too many and a father figure to more than that.
I’m thankful everyday I met him especially now and I wish we could have one last bottle and one last cigarette together.
He was in a class of his own and I will miss him very dearly

My Grandfather was a strong man, he was always kind, and knew how to make people smile. I am eternally grateful for how he shaped my family. I’ve got to hear many stories about Grandpa in this time, I’ve enjoyed them all and it is clear to me what an inspiring person he was. I wish I got to know him for longer, though in my 19 years of life he always made me happy. It is beautiful to know how much he meant to people, how loved he was, and still is. I love him forever and miss him dearly. May he rest in peace ♡
