elevated 8vhnt Obituary
elevated 8vhnt It is with profound sadness that Captain Robert E. Moore’s family and loved ones announce his sudden passing on Tuesday, June, 14, at the age of 72. Rob is survived by his son Christopher (Marjorie), daughter Carolyn (Josh), his grandchildren Charlotte and Benjamin, his partner Mirella Piccinin and her children – Julia, Nadia and Michael, and his brothers Ken, Kevin and Brian. A passionate aviator who often said he never worked a day in his life, Rob enjoyed a 35-year career as an Air Canada pilot. Though he traveled the world, his country home in Prince Edward County was his most loved destination. Rob was a sentimental and thoughtful man who loved with all of his heart. One never wondered where you stood with him. He was most generous with his family and friends, even when it came at personal sacrifice. He enjoyed a good time and the simple pleasures in life. He will be greatly missed.

Having Rob and Mirella as our neighbours on Sheba’s Island was such a pleasure. Rob’s passion and love for his home there was obvious. He greeted us with his incredible smile each and every time we popped by. He was always genuinely happy to see us and be together to enjoy yet another beautiful evening on West Lake. We will miss Rob immensely. He had so much more living to do. Wishing Mirella, Chris, Carolyn, and the entire family our sincerest condolences on this tragic loss. Our heart and prayers are with you all.
Sorry I can’t be there with you all, but you are in my thoughts.
Vince, myself, Alexa, Eric and Paul are beyond saddened with the passing of ‘Captain Rob’. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Mirella. Our thoughts and prayers are there for his children, grandchildren, Julia, Michael, Nadia and the kids. He was a very nice and gentle man. RIP
We will forever remember Rob with fondness.
Please accept our heartfelt sympathy and condolences for your profound and untimely loss. May memories help to soften the sharp edges of grief on the journey ahead.
Sincerely,
Joanne and John Bates
As Rob’s friend and neighbour, we are going to miss him terribly. . Dinners on his deck with Mirella and family were great fun and the knowledge you could ask him for help at any time meant a lot.

Antonia Frisina and Family
Rob was the best neighbour anyone could ask for.
I am saddened and shocked of Rob’s passing. I thought he would be my neighbour on Shebas island forever. Rob was kind to all of us and especially to my children. May he rest in eternal peace, “flying” high.
With love and heartfelt condolences, Vera & family.
We are both shocked and saddened to learn of Rob’s sudden passing and find ourselves in denial and disbelief.
We will miss him and our get togethers immensely ! Rob was a true gentleman. Perhaps a testament of his good old Irish upbringing. Our paths have crossed on numerous occasions over the last 10 years. All were joyful and interesting. We liked that he was well travelled, well read, and a great story teller, but above all a warm-hearted individual who enjoyed good company and good wine.
Following a glorious career with the airlines, retirement meant enjoyment ! It was as if Rob had committed to doing only the things that brought him happiness! It wasn’t more travel or a lavish lifestyle. On the contrary it was the low key, the proximity to nature, and the company of good family and friends.
An accomplished man who lived an extraordinary life but never lost sight of what was really important… simplicity and humility. We are choosing to call that the Rob Factor and ask ourselves: When will we learn from Rob? When is what we have now enough?
It pains us deeply to see him go so suddenly and so soon . But we are finding solace in the fact that Rob got to stop to smell the roses in the last few years and did what made him happiest.
We feel very fortunate to have known him and are grateful for example that he left us with. We will forever try to incorporate the Rob Factor in our own lives !
Mirella and family
We are deeply saddened by the news of Rob’s sudden passing. We enjoyed sharing some time with Rob and Mirella on the Island.
Rob always had interesting stories to share. We always enjoyed our chats with him.
He was a very kind and genuine person who we always thought of as a true gentleman.
Rob prided himself on keeping his property pristine – we all envy his lawn!
His casual smile and warm personality will be sadly missed.
Rest In Peace Rob
Rest In Peace Rob! Our heartfelt condolences to all the family. Keeping you in our prayers. May all your wonderful memories bring you comfort as you celebrate a life lived to the fullest. Rob was a blessing to all who crossed paths with him.
Rob and I worked together in 1970. He then went to AC and urged me to go as well. I didn’t as I didn’t figure the airline life was for me.
However even though he ended up in Toronto and I stayed in Montreal we got together very often. I think fondly of our trips to Hong Kong, Paris and elsewhere. We had fun and I always considered him my best friend.
His passing was a shock and I am truly saddened by it.
Rest In Peace, Rob.
I remember Rob from long ago when we went for dinner in Hong Kong when he was on a layover and I was living there. One trip where Bill Jesse came over was particularly memorable. Rob also gave me plenty of tips on flying the 747. Our visits were mostly fleeting but I’ll never forget him.
If a man can be judged by his offspring, he was great man. My deepest condolences to Chris and Carolyn.
Sorry for your loss, the news only recently was brought to my attention.
