elevated YB4PP Yeah I’m a lucky man, to count on both hands, the ones I love…

elevated YB4PP Robert Michael Smith (b. Nov.15/77) a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend, died on April 9, 2019, with his loved ones by his side, at Mackenzie Health Centre.  Rob, as he was known to all, was the loving husband to Nicole Fleming, and an adoring father to Gabriel and Grace. To his parents, Dan and Trudy Smith, he was their beloved second born son. To his eldest brother, Matt, and his younger brother, Jay, he was the second member of their trio.  Rob was a charming, loving brother-in-law to Cynthia Bettio and Maria Christina Smith. He was a loving uncle to Hannah, Adrian, Chloe, Lily, Luke and Sara. He will be dearly missed by his mother-in-law Helen Lukas, brother-in-law, Trevor Fleming, aunt-in-law Anna, and in-laws Jack and Susan Fleming.   His absence will be felt by dozens of cousins, and several aunts and uncles. Rob’s relationships with those he loved, especially his friends, told the world about who he was – a man with a wicked sense of humour, a very big heart, enormous hands, and sparkling green eyes. He was, as his friends have said, the glue that held them together.  Whether at one of his famous backyard Canada Day BBQ’s with fireworks, at the cottage by the fire or at the hunt camp, Rob was a shining light of love and kindness. Thank you to all of the staff at Mackenzie Health in the Surgical, Medicine and ICU Units for providing Rob with excellent care and compassion. A special debt of gratitude goes to Dr. Sowerby and Dr. Dwosh for their incredible humanity. A Go Fund Me Page has been set up for the family. Please go to Help Support Rob Smith’s family to donate.
