elevated VnCbv It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father on July 27, 2020 at the Hospice Simcoe in Barrie. Roberto passed away peacefully after enduring a long struggle with cancer and will be terribly missed but forever in our hearts and minds.
elevated VnCbv Roberto was born on May 28, 1947 in Mestre, Veneto, Italy and emigrated to Canada when he was only 7 years old. He is the son of Ignazio and Saveria Passafiume, brother to Salvatore Passafiume, (sister-in-law Angela) and predeceased by his sister Maria Antolini. He is the adored husband of Diane Passafiume and father to Lisa Marrelli (son-in-law Jim Marrelli) and Tina Lombardo (son-in-law Philip Lombardo). He has been blessed with five grandchildren: Felicia, Carmen, Isabella, Victoria and Angelina and a niece Savina, whom he felt like his own.
elevated VnCbv We know that there are many people who would want to pay tribute to Roberto and support the family during this time but are not able to due to the limited number of guests allowed within the current COVID environment. Know that we have you in our hearts and minds and are extremely grateful. The funeral mass will be shared on a live-stream broadcast at 12:00 noon on Friday, July 31, 2020 via Holy Cross Chapel in Thornhill.

elevated VnCbv As family and genuine friendships mattered most and transcended all his pain, Roberto often shared that ‘without love there is nothing’. Robert/Papa we will miss your loving and kind heart, warm embrace and jovial spirit. We know you are in a better place because God saw you and called you home to fly. Rest in peace and God bless you forever.

Your gentle hands at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us,

We watched you fade away,
Our hearts were almost broken,
You fought so hard to stay.
But when we saw you sleeping,
Peacefully and free from pain,
We could not wish you back,
To suffer that again.

Make up for all he suffered,
That seemed to us unfair.

So many times we’ve cried,
If love could have saved you,
You never would have died.
