elevated F1M2h Rodolfo passed away peacefully at the age of 84 in Richmond Hill, surrounded by the love of his family in his home. Beloved husband to Rosa (nee Procopio) of 60 wonderful years. Loving father to Tina (Aldo), Dominic (Pina) and Nicola (Jenny). Cherished Nonno of Adriana (Christopher), Alessandro, Alexia, Milla, Marcus and Rodolfo.
elevated F1M2h Rodolfo, affectionately known as ‘Rudy’, was a master craftsman and carpenter whose beautiful creations touched many lives. Rodolfo was a husband, father, grandfather and friend, whose love continues to fill the hearts of everyone who knew him.
elevated F1M2h Although Rodolfo lost his Mom at 2 years old, he vividly remembered her presence every day. Rodolfo devoted his life to his family. He was a living example of self-sacrifice and unconditional love. One step at a time he endured every hardship, confronted each challenge, and never faltered in his belief that God would show him the way.
elevated F1M2h His life is a tribute to his family, from his humble beginning, he worked every day to foster his own. His family strives to carry forth his legacy of perseverance, patience, honesty and kindness.
elevated F1M2h Rodolfo will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all.
elevated F1M2h In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mackenzie Health Foundation- Dialysis Unit or the Kidney Foundation. Rodolfo was a regular member of the St. Mary Immaculate Parish, and a yearly contributor to The War Amps, The Society of the Little Flower and Basilica Santuario San Antonio.

Carissimi cugini e parenti del Canada ,io sono Domenico Fortuna vostro cugino, figlio piu’ grande di Francesco Fortuna fratello di vostro padre zio Rodolfo.
Vivo a Vibo Valentia e da poche ore ho saputo della morte dopo una lunga malattia e sofferenza, del vostro caro papa’ Rodolfo.
Io ho 68 anni ormai da tantissimi anni non vedevo il vostro papà e la vostra cara mamma , mi ricordo però bene il matrimonio dei vostri genitori a stefanaconi, io ero bambino ma ancora ho chiaro il viso degli sposi molto belli, e ho vissuto un giorno di festa che non ho piu dimenticato e lo porto ancora oggi vivo dentro di me dentro il mio cuore.
Mio papà Ciccio come sapete è morto anche lui a novembre 2022, e papà voleva molto bene a suo fratello Rodolfo.
Capisco il momento terribile di dolore che state vivendo, vi sono vicino anche con la mia famiglia.
Vi abbraccio tutti forte forte anche se forse non ci siamo mai visti ma spero tanto di incontrarvi di conoscervi e abbracciarvi veramente..
La mancanza dei genitori non passerà mai ,un pezzo grande del nostro cuore va via e la nostra vita non sarà più come prima.Cercare di essere uniti e farvi coraggio e aiutarvi a vicenda , questo è il desiderio dei vostri genitori, volervi bene…vi abbraccio forte e spero un giorno di incontrarvi.

Nonno, you were always in your overalls,
To celebrate the grandchild that crawls.
Full of love you were for your family,
You perfected your carpenter mastery.

I am so sorry to hear of Rodolfo’s passing
I have fond memories of him and will never forget the time
he helped us to build our home.

Although, I never had the privilege of meeting Mr. Fortuna Sr. in person, I can only imagine how he must have been a great dad, husband and grandpa. I say that because I see the same qualities in Dom and his beautiful family. He did a great job is raising his kids which clearly shows in Dom, Nic and his siblings.
Dominic and I are neighbours and friends and I remember we never missed talking about him every single time we met. Dom always talked about how strong Mr. Fortuna was, how he faced all his health struggles with courage and strength.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Fortuna family. May peace be with you.

With regrets, we were not able to attend the Funeral Mass for Rodolfo personally. However, we were very grateful for having being able to watch the very uplifting farewelll streamed Mass for the end of his Christian life here on earth and for the beginning of his wonderful birth in Heaven.
Happy is he who has died in the Lord; let him rest for his labours for his good deeds go with him.

I did not know Nono Fortuna, but I have come to know and love Adriana, my grandson Christopher’s wife. As I read the memorials, I recognize many of Rodolfo’s qualities in his granddaughter. Adriana is always looking at the bright side. She is loyal, compassionate, creative adventurous, and courageous. All qualities mentioned.
By example, Rodolfo taught his family well.
My sympathy in their loss goes out to all those who loved him. Take comfort that his legacy continues in the grandchildren he nurtured.
