elevated JHw7J With heavy hearts, we announce that Roland D’Costa passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on July 16th, 2024.
elevated JHw7J Roland D’Costa, born on December 1, 1952, in Bombay, India, to the late Anthony and Maria D’Costa, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth. A devoted husband, Roland married his beloved wife, Gladys Yvonne D’Costa, on January 10, 1988. Together, they built a beautiful life and a loving family.
elevated JHw7J Roland was a quiet and soft-spoken man, whose gentle nature and kind heart touched all who knew him. As a father, Roland was a guiding light to his three sons, Royston D’Costa (Ruth), Clinton D’Costa, and Andre D’Costa. He cherished his role as a grandfather to his two precious granddaughters, Sarena D’Costa and Rachel D’Costa, who brought him immense joy.
elevated JHw7J Roland will be dearly missed by his family, including his siblings Leslie D’Costa (Isabel) and Cynthia Fernandes (Joe), and leaves behind an abundance of stories and memories that his family and friends will forever cherish. His passing will be deeply felt by many, and his life will be joyously remembered and long celebrated by all who were fortunate enough to have shared in it.
elevated JHw7J A private memorial service will be held to celebrate Roland’s life and honor the incredible man he was. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to ShareLife.

It is sad to see Roland go and I will always remember him a kind and simple person to all. I was fortunate to know him more closely as his bro-in-law and I will forever cherish the good memories I have of him. I will also remember Roland for his love and excitement of the latest in electronics and some gadgets which he would pride in enjoying. Roland was a very devoted father and husband, cared deeply and worked hard for his family. May the good Lord welcome him with open arms and may he enjoy the eternal rest that he now deserves.

To the D’Costa family and relatives, my deepest condolences on the loss of Roland. I have had the opportunity to work with and get to know Roland for the past twenty-two (22) years. I could not have known and worked with a finer person. I appointed Roland to his last position with the board. At the time of the appointment, we faced the challenging task of being able to gather and report information we were required to within a short time. However, Roland, with his patience and willingness to work with our school community, was able to gather and report this information with ease (much to my amazement). I have also been the recipient of many kind words from members of our school community (Secretaries & Principals) regarding the time, effort, and patience that Roland spent with them to complete their reporting requirements. To my dear friend I offer these words: The time spent collaborating with you and getting to know you was not long enough. You have made an impression on my life that I’ll always remember. On behalf of your teammates at DPCDSB, we will miss you and we honour the time spent with you. We pray for Eternal Rest grant unto you O Lord and let lite perpetual shine upon Roland.

Roland was truly a kind and gentle human being. I remember him being so helpful when I was a Head Secretary as he walked me through the Financial tasks explaining everything with such ease and detail.
