With deep sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of Roman Pinto on July 14, 2026, at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga, Ontario, at the age of 92.
Roman was born in Bombay (now Mumbai), India, to the late John Pinto and Mary Pinto. He was the seventh of eight children and was predeceased by his beloved siblings: Lucy, Joe, Fanchu, Amancia, Amy, and Meena. He is survived by his younger sister, Barbara, who resides in the United Kingdom.
On December 26, 1967, Roman married the love of his life, Liban. Together they shared 21 wonderful years of marriage and built a loving family. He was a devoted husband to his late wife and a cherished father to Gwyneth (Oliver), the late Savio, and the late Crysllyn (Phil). He was also a proud and loving grandfather to Seth, who brought him immeasurable joy.
A lifelong parishioner of St. Michael’s Church, Mahim, Roman had a deep devotion to Our Lady of Perpetual Succour and faithfully attended the renowned Wednesday Novenas. His Catholic faith remained the cornerstone of his life. He served the Church as an altar server, Eucharistic Minister, parish council member, and in Canada, member of the Knights of Columbus. As long as his health allowed, he attended daily Mass, later continuing his devotion by participating in televised daily Mass.
