In Loving Memory of Romana “Remy” Lopez
It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Romana “Remy” Lopez on May 11, 2025, at Sunnybrook Hospital, at the age of 76.
Remy was the beloved wife of Danilo “Danny” for 50 wonderful years. She was a devoted mother to Donna and Chris, Kenny and Sadaf, Julian and Rochelle, and Irish. She was a proud and loving Lola to Madeline, Alexia, and Kayden.
She will be dearly missed by her siblings: Fely and Aurora, Mhar, Froilan and Estela, Maurie, Greg and Marissa, and Myrna and Rey. Remy was also a cherished sister-in-law to Noel and Menchie, and Rowena and Frankie. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her extended family and friends, including family pets Sam, Barney, Prince, and Ali.
Remy was an incredibly strong, selfless woman who faced her illness with grace, courage, and an unwavering zest for life. She embraced every moment—always eager to go out, travel, shop, and share meals with her loved ones. She was also a proud member of Scotiabank and an active member of BLD (Bukas Loobsa Diyos) for over 30 years. Even during the most challenging times, she chose joy and togetherness. Her determination to live fully and be present with family spoke volumes about her spirit and the legacy she leaves behind.
Though she never dwelled on her illness, her quiet strength was evident in the love and time she gave to those around her. She will be lovingly remembered and forever missed.
In honour of Remy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Love you Tita Remy! Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
Sending healing prayers and sincere condolences to you, Danny, Donna & Chris, Ken & Sadaf, Julian & Rochelle, and to your grandchildren.

I am saddened by Remy’s passing and extend my heartfelt condolences.
Take comfort and be consoled she is now resting peacefully in our Lord’s embrace.
2 Corinthians 5:8 When we leave the body we are at home with the Lord.
Ate Remy was one of my “idols” as I was growing up– warm, caring, generous & very loving, not to mention, maganda at matangkad. Beauty queen material nga. I remember her bringing us kasama mga Ate ko, sa live basketball games.
When she visited a few years back, she was still the same. I just feel so sad that she is gone. We didnt even know that she was sick. But she in a better place now.
🙏🏻 We pray for the eternal repose of the soul of Ate Remy and pray too for strength for Kuya Danny & family. Lubos kaming nakikiramay! 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
Condolence to the whole family. May the perpertual light shine upon her.RIP
Thank you and Love you Tita Remy.. you will be sorely missed

You will always be remembered with love. Condolences to Kuya Danny, her kids and the rest of the family. Prayers for her eternal rest and for her family’s consolation.
Our prayerful condolences Kuya Danny and your family on the passing of Ate Remy. We will always remember Ate Remy as our dear older cousin who brought us to see places in Manila when we were growing up. She was someone we looked up to as one of our role models. She was very caring to our Lola Cion, Lolo Doro and my Mommy Cora. I also fondly remember my enjoyable short visit with you and your family in your house in Scarborough where both Ate Remy and you took me around Toronto and other places in Ontario.
Ate Remy will be sorely missed, will always be lovingly remembered and will never be forgotten. Prayers for Ate Remy that she may now rest in peace in God’s kingdom in the bosom of Mama Mary. Prayers, too, Kuya Danny, for your strength in this time of grief. Take care.
Our sincere condolences to Danny and his family on the loss of our Pinsan Remy. May the angels accompany her to see our God. May her soul rest in peace.

May your happy memories of Remy bring you peace and comfort. ❤️ 🙏
Praying for Ate Remy, Kuya Danny, and family. I spent a good portion of my childhood with Ate Remy in Santa Ana, Manila. She was an affectionate big sister to me. I tagged along with her on shopping trips and vacations. She helped me with my embroidery projects in school since she was very good at these. Every evening, we waited for our favorite songs to be played on the radio. I remember that her favorite was “This Day” by Cliff Richard. Our family loved her very much. Praying for comfort for her family.
Dear Danny (and your family),
I was shocked when you messaged me yesterday that Remy passed away. Remy is a very strong woman, caring and loving. The few times when I (and sometime with my family) stayed with both of you while I am in Toronto, Remy was very accommodating and attentive. She has a take-away package bag to take just in case I (or we) got hungry, so she says.
Remy I will miss your very warm personality and smile.
I lost a dear friend ,too soon. We made plans to do ” these” and visit here and there, alas realization of time sets in too late. Feeling of guilt kicks in , but in this life we have to accept that time is not always on our side. But I have to learn from this,Remy’s life gave me a deep perception of the real meaning of borrowed time. We have to be more decisive of our plan and DO it…because of Remy ,Lita and I and ( our husbands ) enjoyed countless trips to Casino and enjoyed the yesteryears concerts, singing and dancing with their music ,who cares who is watching us do our moves. If we lost a more that few $$ Remy will say “nagenjoy naman tayo” and me waaa I like it more if we win. But we go home full of Laughters and memories…..These I will miss so much. Dinners and movies in ours or Remy’s or Lita’s house. At the end of the day we go home happy and part with more plans .
We will miss you FREN…. Lita and Lito, Me and Mon will always feel a void spot on our garden table. Danny will always join us in our own ways we will make sure he will always be there and laugh with us.
I will always remember you in my prayers ,remember to pray for us too, Till we meet again…..
For Remy
You are missing from us
as if a limb, a heartbeat,
a laughter at the table-
suddenly gone,
and we are left reaching
for the warmth you always gave.
You are missed by me,
in the quiet after meals,
in the empty seat at every gathering,
in the way our family feels unstitched
without your hands holding us together.
Remy, you were strength-
not loud, but steady,
selfless in every gesture,
feeding us not just with food
but with joy, with courage,
with the zest for every day.
You faced illness with grace,
never letting it define you,
always eager for life-
to travel, to shop, to laugh,
to share one more moment
with those you loved most.
You taught us that love
is a meal shared,
a journey taken together,
a family held close
by a woman’s quiet power.
May every woman
find the strength you had-
to nurture, to lead,
to hold a family whole.
We will remember you,
lovingly, endlessly-
missing you as a part of ourselves,
carrying your spirit
in every good time,
every meal,
every act of love
that keeps us together.
Please accept our deepest condolences for the passing of Remy, a beautiful soul. May her new life with God be a celebration of peace and joy. May Danny and the entire family find comfort and peace in the beautiful memories shared together, and may Remy’s memory be a constant source of comfort. 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
