elevated f3MSc Passed away peacefully at home on March 16, 2020 at the age of 86, surrounded by his cherished family. He leaves behind his loving wife of 63 years, Marjorie. Also left to grieve are his children Sharon (Dr. Nouri Shammas), Karen (Bill Barootes), Dan (Ann), Cindy and Bryan (Dianne). Proud Nonno to his grandchildren Erika (Colin), Danny, Nicholas, Jane, Brooke, Benson, Hailey, Adam, Alexander, Jonathan and Madeline, and his great grandchildren Alexis, Bennett and Delaney. While Ron would consider his family his most important accomplishment, he led a full and active life. Born in Thunder Bay to Angelina and Vincent, he sadly lost his mother at a young age but was fortunate to gain a loving stepmother in Villa. A talented young hockey player, he caught the eye of the Boston Bruins organization but ultimately chose to attend Ryerson Institute of Technology where he excelled in Architectural studies and continued his hockey career as a player and distinguished coach. Ron went on to form Scarcello Developments, a successful construction company in Toronto for over 40 years. The family would like to thank the many caregivers whose kind support enabled Ron to spend his final days at home with his loving family. Due to current public health concerns the family will be holding a private funeral, but a memorial Mass and celebration of Ron’s remarkable life will be held at a later date.
To the family!
I had the honour of meeting your dad or papa as Cynthia (Cindi) would say a number of years ago but feel I’ve know him a life time. Over the years Cynthia has shared many wonderful stories and good
know papa has left many wonderful memories with you all.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time.
Sending our love and support to you all We are thinking of you

You made my life at Ryerson a happy one. You took a raw
left-wing rookie and made him a defenseman with the express
mission of adding aggressiveness to the team and to protect
the team’s high scorer, Bryan Webber. We beat the world in
1958, and were 10 minutes away in 1959 from a second
consecutive championship. You were a players coach that
instilled a passion for the game and a work ethic that served us
so well in lives. Thank you Ron you were special.
He was my hockey coach on that famous 1962 team which won Ryerson’s only Intercollegiate Hockey Championship. Whenever we saw him at the Alumnae events, he was always very warm and friendly. Loved reminiscing about those wonderful hockey times!
Alex Fex #5 Condolences to Ron’s family.
My sincere condolences to Ron’s family and friends.
It was an honour to have had him as my Captain on the 1955-56 and 1956-57 Ryerson Rams hockey teams.
I remember him as a wonderful person and very talented player.

So Sorry for your loss. Sounds like a great man. Adam talks about him all the time and looked forward to the winter hockey games. I do know he raised a wonderful family and was loved by his grandchildren. That is the ultimate life goal for any man.
