elevated DjhVR 1935 ~ 2020

elevated DjhVR God called Rosa peacefully on December 7, 2020 at the age of 84. She was a beloved mother to Carm (Joe), Mike (Franca), and Lolla, cherished Nonna to Angelo (Jean Marc), Rose, Jonathan (Jessica), Michelle (Chris), Joseph (Ann), Great-Grandmother to Mia Rose and sister to Maria (Franco). Rosa is reunited in Heaven with her loving husband Angelo and her siblings Stella (Patrizio), Anna (Vito), and Antonio. Born in Pisticci, Matera, Italy, on December 16th, 1935 to her Mother Annunciata and Father Filippo, Rosa trained and worked as a seamstress until she moved to Canada in 1956. Upon becoming a loving wife and mother, Rosa was the embodiment of ‘tough love’ but always ensured that everyone around her was happy and very well-taken care of. Rosa was known for her quick wit, caring heart, being able to effortlessly cook up a storm – and being a mean, and very lucky, bingo player. Despite some challenges in her life, including losing her husband tragically at a young age, and battling Alzheimer’s Disease in her later years, Rosa persisted. Until her last moments, Rosa found comfort in knowing that her family loved and cherished her.

elevated DjhVR Regrettably, due to COVID-19 restrictions on gatherings, there isn’t an opportunity for a fulsome celebration of Rosa’s life with all of her family, friends and loved ones present. There will be a private viewing for the family on Thursday, December 10th, 2020 at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, 211 Langstaff Road East, Thornhill, ON L3T 2Z6. You will have an opportunity to stream the funeral mass on Friday, December 11th, 2020 at 12:00 PM by visiting HERE.

elevated DjhVR Rosa will be entombed at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association may be made by clicking HERE. The family wishes to thank you for all the love and support during this difficult time.

MOTHER

“Though her smile is gone forever

And her hand we cannot touch.

Still we have so many memories

Of the one we loved so much.

Her memory is our keepsake

With which we’ll never part.

God has her in His keeping

We have her in our hearts”.
