elevated TTR9D Our hearts are broken as we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Vavó and Bisavó, Rosa Torres Marques.  She passed away peacefully at Brampton Civic Hospital, on Friday, June 11, 2021, at the age of 90. Beloved mother to Helena (George) and Lucia (Victor) and adored Vavó to Christopher, Chantel (Euan), Alyssia (Rahim) and Julian. Rosa was also Bisavó to three great grandchildren, Lincoln, Lucas and Addison. She loved her family beyond words.

elevated TTR9D Rosa was the daughter of José Resendes Torres and Rosa Raposo Torres. She was a sister to Maria (deceased), Manuel (deceased), Virgilio, João (deceased) and Alcida (deceased).

elevated TTR9D Born  on April 1, 1931, in S. Miguel, Azores (Portugal), Rosa immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1969 with her two daughters.

elevated TTR9D Rosa was a warrior. Her beloved husband, Manuel Luis Marques, passed away in 1958, after only three years of marriage. A loss so devastating that she never, ever truly recovered from. They are now finally reunited. Her daughters were 3 years old and 6 months old at the time. She raised her daughters and dedicated her life to them.

elevated TTR9D Rosa was a professional seamstress. She was very creative, both in her sewing and her crafts. She was a devout Catholic, attending mass at St. Mary’s Church in Toronto and then at Our Lady of Fatima parish in Brampton.

elevated TTR9D We will miss her so much. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
